@Delzhand: Come to think of it, does rage-quitting count as a loss in this game? (I don't know how much stat-tracking this game does).
Which is great.
I want that DLC.
Also, is there a way to form parties? I've seen a few times where in a lobby like 5 guys will have mics, and when it forms the teams, they'll all get thrown on one team. There's no way that's coincidence.

Yeah it does, in multi you can check Teletran 1 to see your stats.

Usual way; form a Live party, invite to game and queue for a match.
Err, sorry, I meant on PS3. Which there's probably an obvious way too, but this is the first game I've really extensively played multiplayer for.

But I had like 33 kills and 6 deaths at the end.
Finally got Level 25 on Scout tonight. Trying out the Level 25 ability cooldown mod, hard to tell how much it really helps. I love EMP Blinders though.

I may be nit-picking, but I always appreciate knowing what numbers the game is using to decide why I just got my face stomped into the ground. Plus I run into walls sometimes.

In half? That's pretty crazy if so.
I agree with Rob, I wish they would just say the values. Does the damage buff from the ammo beacon stack with Hover's damage buff? Which has a higher damage buff, Surprise Attack or Backstab? How much armor does Dimensional Step add when uncloaking, and how long does it last?

Yeah, I've been running into that strategy a lot in Conquest. It's stupidly effective considering how easy it is to do.
In regards to the cooldown perk, I'm almost to level 25 on my Leader. I can probably give you a better idea of how good it is after I see how often I get Warcry up.
There's nothing like seeing an ally in trouble, so you speed down a corridor as a car, boost across a gap, land near him and breakdance into cover next to him as you start throwing stun grenades and shooting Decepticons.
Overall, he's kinda meh. 9x out of 10, I'd much rather play as Sideswipe.
I do rock his chassis for multiplayer, though.
And I can confirm that Pope does indeed rock as Sideswipe. I was there when he tried to play as Jazz. Great, but not Awesome.
Huh, strange that they give Demolisher and Jazz unique skills, but just stuck Shockwave with... well, Shockwave. Suppose they just couldn't resist giving him the skill due to the name.
Kind of hope they revamp the character's abilities for Escalation at some point. Some characters get really awesome abilities, and some are completely meh. And I believe Megatron is the only one with Drain, and Optimus is the only one with Warcry, which are both great abilities, so it's annoying that they're limited to one bot.
Though there's really only so much you can do given the skills available and the number of combinations.
I'm now going to have to sit down with the trophy list and get all the board specific trophies for fun. I think that's an interesting set of Trophies to strive for.
I enjoy the MP, I was wrecking shit with the Scout. I'm not much of a console MP guy and I think I lack the patience to deal with the huge downtime between games. And the fact that I get disconnected a lot. But, it'll def. be my goto Deathmatch game!
That's my main point though, there aren't that many skills and having several of them as "unique" to a particular character makes a lot of other characters feel samey. Though I think the bigger problem is that some skills (such as Shockwave/Whirlwind) just aren't as good in Escalation.
Thanks! It's been a while since I've played some Escalation. Anyone up for it tonight? I would still like to get to Level 15 as the Decepticons.
I actually do kinda like Whirlwind. It's a good "oh shit" button when you suddenly got bombarded with machine gunners, shot gunners, and cloakers.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if the cloakers actually transform into anything?
I kinda wish there were more transformations in enemies. For example, the Titans could use a transformation into something else. They don't need to be lumbering giants all the time. The only robot that transforms into a tank form is the Destroyer, but man, they don't use that tank form well at all. They can't ever hit shit and move about an inch a minute.
The best enemy transformers are probably the Aerialbots. They can skate around at ground level, Hover in the air while in robot form and expose their rocket jets, transform into jet mode and do barrel rolls, or fly in on a bombing run.
Story
Also, Starscream was terribly written. Went from "I'll defend my station to the death from the likes of you Megatron" to "Backstabbing Decepticon" in like a half hour. I couldn't beleive he was already talking about overthrowing Megatron on his first mission, like he's been talking about it for years, when he didn't even KNOW who Megatron was in the previous level.
Other than that, pretty average overall. Fanwanks here and there, but the overall story is passable.
Visuals
Gameplay
Also, Trypticon is a fucking cunt. Apparently driving away really fast from his missile barrage doesn't work, but abusing Prime's dash does. I tried the vehicle first and when that didn't work, I figured being on foot wouldn't work either. I actually had to read online that his dash will protect you. What a poor boss design. Bitch went from impossible to trivial once I learned about that.
Overall, I think I'll give it a B-. It didn't impress me as a Transformers fan, the visuals kinda blurred together, and I felt the gameplay was subpar to other Third Person Shooters. The multiplayer looks neat, but I'm not a MP kind of guy, and the lack of splitscreen for campaign and escalation is unforgivable. Still, it's at least a polished game.
I actually had the opposite experience and it made it a far better boss battle:
I was getting nuked right away with that fucking barrage; couldn't figure it out. I couldn't dash quick enough or run quick enough and I was like, FUCK IM NOT FAST ENOUGH.......wait, I can turn into a truck. I popped into truck form and kept Turbo on and I couldn't be touched. I just did big laps around the place.
But the difficulty curve was jarring. A lot of the bosses felt like old school NES style bosses, and it came with that difficulty and the absolute punishment of anything other then perfection, where other places I felt they held your hand.
I do agree that it's hard to distinguish metallic robots from metallic walls and such. I think they did a decent job, but at other times I did shoot a far away block thinking it was a Transformer.
Over all though, I did enjoy it. I do agree though, the lack of split screen co-op is a travesty.
I honestly think the game's strong point lies in the multiplayer. They've unashamedly stolen a mix of elements from popular multiplayer games - CoD's weapon/perk loadouts, Battlefield's soldier classes, Halo's pickups/overshields etc etc - but Hell, it works. Modern Warfare 2's ridiculous superhuman perks actually make sense when you're a fricking Transformer.
Love how tight the controls are. Again, they've just stolen the 'best of the best' button layouts, but that's a damn good thing. And after tearing my hair out with Bad Company 2, where it takes about 30 minutes to equip C4, place it, and detonate it because of unresponsive controls, it feels nice to be able to multitask your transforming, abilities, melee and shooting so fluidly in Transformers.
Really enjoying the different classes and abilities I've seen so far. There's enough variation to let you approach combat in a number of satisfying ways. I love thundering towards the enemy as the Scientist jet, transforming above, blasting out a Shockwave as I drop, cleaning up any survivors with melee and then patching up teammates as medic.
That said, I'm having serious issues getting into games fast.. and whether it's connection issues or impatient/raging players, I'm seeing a lot of people dropping out of lobbies and games in progress. But once a game is in full swing I can't help but grin at the brutal clash of machines.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but seriously, do you think I'm not already doing this? I'm not stupid or inexperienced with games.
The color scheme thing doesn't work. More than once I'll see red out of the corner of my screen and go "oh hey, it's an ally" and then turn, only to get attacked by the same guy who suddenly isn't my guy. The different colors aren't strong enough or common enough to use as visual identifiers. At least, not for me.
And taking stock of the room doesn't help when I'm already in the middle of a frantic firefight.
You should aim at stuff.
Good way to get shot from the side if you're aiming all the time.
And I am very much a fan of the simple gameplay. It's like they said "okay, this game will be about shooting robots. Also, there will vehicle portions" and they built a solid game around it.
And multiplayer is really fun. Though I want another double exp weekend.
And shit the multi is so much fun. Are there more multiplayer games this fun? Modern Warfare and such never looked that interesting. More games need giant transforming robots.

Don't know what to tell you. I never had trouble telling enemies from allies. My only frustrations came from the stealth guys who'd occasionally get stuck in walls and enemy fliers who would circle too fast for me to track if I was on foot, in which case I'd try to use the environment to my advantage and place my back in a corner to limit the directions they could come at me from.
Also, the middle of a frantic firefight is the perfect time to leave the room, restock, and pick off the enemies one by one. Even if you can't leave the room itself, most of them have corners and hiding spots. And, AFAIK, your allies can't die, unless scripted (Ratchet in that one level). The best strategy is often to move forward until you trigger a wave of enemies, retreat and let your allies occupy their attention, then kill them individually. This works for at least 2/3rds of the rooms.
This is the kind of game that attempts to create difficulty through chaos and a frantic tempo. The thing is, there's really only a couple of places in the game where you actually have to rush. The chaos is an illusion. Your allies (and the enemies) will wait for you. In this game slow is fast.
The rest is a cheap trick by the devs to make you feel like you need to do more than you actually do.
