You might have to use Smeargle? I dunno.

Hitmontop can work as well. Tyrogue learns Fake Out and when it evolves it can learn Pursuit with the move relearner. I'd rather use a Smeargle, though. It's way easier.

EDIT: And shut down in match #45 by Quick Claw Metagross... Man, this thing just does not want me to get my 100 streak on HeartGold.

I'm telling you guys, Flinchkiss is such a boss in the Battle Tower. Togekiss with Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Thunder Wave, and Roost = much ownage. You only really need to worry about guys with Inner Focus, like Dragonite and Alakazam. Pair with Electrivire for extra lulz.

On the other hand, Flinchkiss also lays bare how much the computer blatantly cheats to win things. When your Togekiss misses two times in a row and then gets OHKO'd by Horn Drill, you will want to murder everything

I used to run Togekiss/Gengar/Garchomp for the Tower in Platinum. Paraflinch what you can, switch out to Garchomp for electrics, let Gengar demolish whatever it can and Destiny Bond afterward.

It's nice while it lasts, but it is invariably ruined by those ice-specialist Ace Trainers.

I tend to partner Togekiss with Physical Electivire and Empoleon. Having two Electricity-weak guys tends to draw out the electricity-themed trainers, which allows Electivire to go to town. Empoleon, meanwhile, carries the quad ice resistance (and like a billion other resistances as well), laughing at the ice-themed trainers while he sets up an agility and a substitute.

I find it's a pretty good combo. They're all bulky and hit hard, and they deal with status pretty well too. (Electivire absorbs Thunder Wave, Empoleon shrugs off poison attacks and can set up a substitute to counter anything else.)

The only problem, as I mentioned, is the computer's infuriating ability to NEVER MISS EVER WHEN USING A OHKO MOVE. On my next BT run I'm considering swapping in Forretress for Empoleon just to counter that bullshit.

    It's ludicrous, fuckin' seriously

Had two OHKO hits land in a fucking row on my team

Also fun is when you fight the pokes with fissure AND horn drill AND guilltoine

Anyways I got up to the 60s or so with a choice band jolly garchomp, life orb jolly absol, and leftovers blissey just fine (my run got cut short due to me doing stupid switching, not from the computer being an asshole)

Think of setting up a trick lead though, seems that works really well

    Fire Fang bypasses Wondertomb defenses.

Why? Because the game says so.

A hacked Spiritomb or Sableye with the ability Wonder Guard. Since Spiritomb and Sableye have no weaknesses, they can only be damaged by weather conditions, status problems, entry hazards such as Spikes or Stealth Rock, recoil moves and, curiously, the move Fire Fang. Note that the ability Mold Breaker will cancel out the Wonder Guard ability. Also, If the opponent has Scrappy, or uses Odor Sleuth or Foresight a Wondereye or Wondertomb can be hit with a super effective Fighting-type attack. Gastro Acid is a move that will cancel this ability as well. Also, Future Sight and Doom Desire will strike through Wonder Guard as well, and do not take type into account so Future Sight will still damage the partial dark type Spiritomb and Sableye. These instances prove that Wondereyes and Wondertombs are not invincible

Hmmm, $5 says that after fight 75 or so everyone you fight has Scrappy Kangashkans on their team, rampardoses, and lileeps

Because that would be cheating, duh.

I always thought this stuff was hilarious back in my Morrowind days. Equipping all +Magicka items and putting a weight on your cast key, then going to sleep? Not Cheating! Making a mod that includes a master trader that will raise your skill to 100? Not Cheating! Setting your skill to 100 in the console? Cheating!

Speaking of Paraflinch, back in I think Gen 2, I had a Crobat with Bite, Confuse Ray, Glare(might have been thunderwave), and Attract. I managed to kill three of the elite four with only her and some max ethers.

Unfortunately, I'm not near any wi-fi that plays nice with my DS, so it may be a few days before I could accept or make any challenges anyway :?

Sure. But it'd have to be from your side. I forgot to save that one. Also, from the game where I can save the battle and upload it to Youtube it'd be nicer to have a label for the video where our battle was.

So after I nailed my Jirachi spread on the third soft-reset, I felt inspired to try for a good Rayquaza

Most of the Smogon sets seem to suggest a focus on physical attacks, with the obligatory surprise set full of special attacks

Should I just go for a Jolly nature and a Dragon Dance set, then? I've already got a mixed attacker in Palkia, a special attacker in Mewtwo, as well as standard-issue Ho-oh and Lugia

My policy on legendaries for now is to not bother catching them until I'm planning to enter a specific tournament/match that permits them. I had to borrow copies from friends and stuff just to get the legendaries I wanted for the VGC because I had already caught mine with different natures.

So, only catch it after you've decided what purpose you want it to serve, basically.
