U.S. Version of Top Gear... It's pretty much what you think.

It seems a U.S. version on Top Gear will be airing on... The History Channel? Is it the only network that would take it?

Anyways, the trailer is below. I have no words.

    Top Gear is Top Gear because of Clarkson, May and Hammond. Without them its just a car show. Granted its probably an interesting and fun car show... but it won't have the same charisma as Top Gear.

    I've never seen Top Gear so I'm going to take your word on it, and while you might be right, I'm sure that for those people who masturbate over cars this will still be a fine show.

    I guess the Stig's American cousin could work though, but yeah without Clarkson, Hammond, and May it'll be iffy. May give it a shot.

    Top Gear's really less about cars and more about fun with cars, to me at least. It's surprisingly accessible which is it's strength, people who don't even care about cars still love it because of the antics and the relationship/chemistry between the hosts.

    US remakes aren't all bad! look at the office, queer as folk, what nto to wear, or coupling. okay, the last one was buttawful, but there's a bit of hope. probably won't be as good as the UK version, but the trailer looks a mite better than i was expecting. will reserve judgment till i see an episode or five, i guess

    i wanna see some of the cheap car challenges they do in the US

    From this promo video I actually quite like this. It's people having fun in cars. That's all Top Gear is.

    Most of it is that they're all actually friend and bounce off each other. If these three can do that too then that's all that's needed.

    It's the original, yes, but I prefer the American version. I find Ricky Gervais' brand of cringing comedy a bit too awkward to watch sometimes.

    The original attempt at a US Top Gear starred Adam Carolla. I feel like this series' lack of Adam Carolla is a major oversight.

    Everyone's got it wrong

    The point of Top Gear is not that they all bounce off each other or they have chemistry or whatever nonsense

    It's that they're funny and they do things like cross the English channel in converted amphibious cars
