    Also I suppose in some larger cities there are radio stations that actually play what youth listen too, but where I live its mostly top 40 puke in your mouth pop, country, or "soft rock".

    Radio programming is so useless here in Germany. You have a million stations playing the "top 40" of some useless metric probably aimed at kids (I know I somewhat liked the "charts music".. when I was ten), a few specialty stations that you can listen to like once in a week and horrible Schlagermusik.
    I actually DO have a radio in my phone, but I never ever use it.
    Either my own files, or web radio steaming. Because with web radio, there might be a similar problem as described above, but at least there are a million specialty stations for almost every mood and situation.
