GameStop -- The Classic Pack:
Armored Vault 13 Suit - Extensively patched up and dotted with piecemeal armor, this outfit is a homage to the classic ending of the original Fallout. Vault 13 Canteen - This handy device is useful for staving off dehydration and providing a small amount of healing in the Mojave Wasteland. Weathered 10mm Pistol - A well-worn 10mm pistol that packs an extra punch despite its modest size. 5 Stimpaks - Food and water are good for long-term healing, but when the fighting is fierce, Stimpaks help keep Wastelanders upright.
}Amazon
Amazon -- The Tribal Pack:
Tribal Raiding Armor - Pieced together from scraps of armor, this outfit provides protection without impacting mobility. Broad Machete - This heavy-bladed melee weapon does high damage against limbs and can quickly deal out a flurry of attacks. 5 Bleak Venom doses - Useful on any Melee Weapon, Bleak Venom makes short of work of most living targets. 10 Throwing Spears - If you would like to silently pin an enemy's head to a wall, Throwing Spears are the way to do it.
}Steam
Steam and Walmart -- The Caravan Pack:
Lightweight Leather Armor - This hand-modified suit of leather armor reduces its overall weight without impacting its ability to protect. Sturdy Caravan Shotgun - Despite its rough appearance, this Caravan Shotgun will reliably fire 20 gauge shells until the Brahmin come home. 4 Repair Kits - Useful for repairing any outfit or weapon, Repair Kits are a valuable tool for any caravaner. Binoculars – The Mojave Wasteland is a dangerous place, but with these trusty Binoculars you’ll be able to spot trouble coming.
}Best Buy
Best Buy -- The Mercenary Pack:
Lightweight Metal Armor - Modified for long-range travel, this Metal Armor sacrifices some protection for mobility and overall weight. Mercenary’s Grenade Rifle - Though similar to other 40mm Grenade Rifles in the Mojave Wasteland, this model has a faster reload cycle. 3 Super Stimpaks - When you absolutely, positively, need to keep your blood inside your body, Super Stimpaks fix you up in no time. 3 Doctors Bags - Mercenaries and broken limbs go together like Iguana-on-a-Stick and Nuka Cola. Thankfully, these Doctors Bags take a bit of sting out of the inevitable crushed skull.
Collectors Edition Details
Bethesda is releasing a Fallout: New Vegas package worth squirreling away in your bomb shelter. The Collector's Edition includes a bunch of goodies modeled after items found in the game, including a set of seven casino chips representing casinos from the game, a special "Lucky 38 platinum chip," a deck of cards with New Vegas character imagery ("Use the cards to play poker, blackjack or Caravan, an original card game that was created by Obsidian especially for New Vegas!").
A hardcover graphic novel, "All Roads," written by Obsidian creative director Chris Avellone, and a making-of DVD are also included in the package. Bethesda didn't offer a price for the Collector's Edition, but GameStop has it at $79.99 on PS3 and Xbox, and $69.99 on PC.
If I could put one thing into FO3 other than greatly expanded quest options and dialog choices, it would be a viable stupid playthrough.
Eh they did have a valid excuse for not putting it in, having to record unique dialog for every NPC you can interact with would be terribly expensive.
They just hire the same fucking five guys for an extra day?
...
Okay first they have to rewrite almost every single line of dialog. This is significant work for the writers and would effectively close to double the time it takes to write any quest. Then they have to record all these new lines, which pretty much doubles the time it takes to record everything. Keep in mind voice actors also entail a writer sitting there coaching the actors, and studio time for the microphones, and audio engineers to clean up the files, and then someone has to get the sound file into the game and clip it to the right length and stuff, and then this all has to go on the disc which perhaps becomes troublesome.
Then they have to have different facial expressions in each conversation because of course when talking to an idiot the NPC will often get angry, so the scripter or coder or animator or whoever does that gets twice as much work for every conversation, and finally they get to write all new lines for the player in every case.
And this is IGNORING the IMMENSE work it takes to make the game function so that a mildy retarded PC could realistically accept and subsequently complete the more complex quests.
It was really more of a cheap shot at the VA than actually being an argument for more dialogue.
Honestly I think the idea of going full VA was a bad one for the series because it forces stuff like this.
The whole point of a retard run is you cant do 90% of the quests
But then you guys would be bitching about how Bethesda is lazy and took out 90% of the quests from the retard run. You guys always find lots of things to bitch about.
noone bitched about that in fo1 and 2.
Becuase for some reason, people were less dickish about the games they played in the mid 90's... Youngsters these days, just a bunch of whiney ingrates. :P
To many games these days are afraid of cutting off certain paths becuase of base character builds. Every one wants to be able to do every quest in every way with every combination. Sometimes, the mayor of a town just doesn't want to put the fate of his people in the hands of a dip-shit.
Simms: Can you disarm that bomb?
PC: Wubba harrrrglb
Simms: Good enough for me, Disarm it and i'll pay you.
PC: JAMBAAGLR
I'm excited for it, and will almost certainly buy it, but I have some hesitation. I have f03 on my ps3, and seeing what you can do with on the pc really make it less impressive. My computer is ancient, and was not top of the line when it was new, but man I wish I had the funds to play Fallout on PC.

My computer could just barely run HL1 and Deus Ex. It is a 2002 vintage Dell. It was bought as a word processor/internet machine for when I went to college. It is oddly-sized, upgrading it was going to be a huge pain in the ass last time I looked. And I don't have the extra money to upgrade it, since I am an adult now and am looking for a house and everything.
I'm sure NV will be awesome, I will just have to avoid info about what the PC NV community does. Knowing what the modders did with FO3 sucked a lot of the fun out of it.

Steam says Oct. 19th.
EDIT: FUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Guess I got no choice but to talk about what kind of character i'm gonna make. Gonna try for a smooth-talking gunslinger again in this one. Maybe switch to energy or explodey weapons if they look cool.
its been 3 in game days and mister crowley still isnt back, im pretty sure he died on the way to the fort
i need his fucking keys so i can get the bobblehead in the fort, i was just gonna kill him as soon as he exited underworld but he didn't show up in the lobby, i'm not even sure if he's in the game any more

Hopefully working for NCR or Caesars Legion is going to be the like the difference of guilds in Oblivion, with their own line of quests. Working for one of the casinos should be its own line of quests too. Perhaps the ability to infiltrate Caesars legion for NCR (or Vice Versa) with intention of killing Caesar (or NCR Leader), maybe for a last mission, or if your really powerful enough, you can plow through the main base of either Caesar or NCR leader

Has anyone heard anything specific about the snowglobes and their usefulness in New Vegas yet ?
Even though it only has the stupid tribal pack as the pre-order bonus, you can use the code "schoolsucks" to get FO:NV for $10 at D2D.
That's $10 off, for the record. I'd be willing to be that mods make the pre-order bonuses a moot point for PC players though, and $40 isn't too shabby of a price for a game I'm apt to spend a whole ton of time with. (Assuming it's not broken by bugs and such.)
Other than adding weapons, items, and textures, what does FOOK2 do?
The text was a little revamped as I had it in remembrance (The G.O.A.T answers didn't sound half as dumb). I don't know if that was already in a patch or DLC though. (Game of the year newly bought)
Also new companions including a K-9 model dog. And a whole lot of other stuff I have no idea about as of now (Have just begun the mod)
So if I've already purchased some of the Fallout 3 DLC for my Steam copy of the game through the GFWL service, will buying another DLC pack from Steam cause compatibility issues or anything? It seems like having it use two different sources for that kind of thing could mess things up, but I'd rather not deal with that MS points bullshit again.

i chose 5 personal picks, and i want suggestions from people for 10 more essential mods.
[tiny]this space also reserved for possible op expansion[/tiny]
Also there is a essential lack of Machete in the New Vegas section as of now.
There will be much danny trejo love later when i add pictures.
and please link to your suggested mods please

I would recommend the FWE mod. It's a huge mod that actually incorporates a lot of smaller mods.

You might have to experiment until you get all the options where you want it, but it's worth it.
Edit: Those who like to make things hardcore should certainly like this.

Oh dude, I can do that. You can also give me Power of Attorney so I can make sure all your affairs stay in order. Y'know, cause I am cool like that.

It's not that bad.
Jesus christ that was a bad idea.

Grenade launcher is in the game. Not auto though.

Also what's up with the Nightkin? They're not going to be fun to fight in this game are they?

Actually there is a full auto Grenade Launcher in the game

Uhhh, completly overlooked that.

Oops, thanks Darlan
For everyone who's still unsure. This dude can be your companion.
Pre-Order. NOW!
@Sirialis No, doesen't seem to be any info around.
I'm gonna check Sawyer posts again, though.

What a brilliant idea!
What horrible, horrible execution!
I wanted out of that fucking thing about 1/3rd of way through it. I couldn't wait for it to end and I absolutely hated almost every aspect of it.
Yup, that's pretty much it to a "T"
Point look out is a nifty place to visit, but the fights are crappy becuase they just added a bajilion HP to them.
The Pitt has an absolutly phenominal story line, but the gameplay itself is nothing special.
Broken steel is... Nifty. It's a psudo fan service feeling ending to the original game.
Haven't played any others.
I love Liberty Prime in a bikini.
:P I know, I know... not all fan service...
