Depends on where you're looking to buy, what your credit is like, and how much you have saved up for the down payment.
I think my credit is pretty stellar and I've got about 30 grand saved up.

    Want to live around Boston.
Save up another 30 grand. :P

10% down payment is the best way to get a good interest rate. There are mortgage calculators out there, where you can take the amount you've got for a down payment, amount of principle you'll have, and your interest rate, and figure out your payment, or plug in your payment and rate, and figure out how much you can afford.

It's pretty damned expensive around here, and it doesn't get too much cheaper as you get out into the suburbs. In any case, I wouldn't buy anything at all for at least a year, maybe two, while house prices start to stabilize around the higher interest rates.

I think you could probably afford something in the mid-200s these days. I'm not sure what's available in the area at that price right now.

I think it'd be pretty fun to take some time off after school and go on an extended cycling trip. Maybe sell everything I own, stick what I don't need to survive in a mutual funds account or CDs, and bike to all the cool places I've never seen. Maybe take six months and see how much ground I can cover.

Certificate of Deposit (I believe). Basically you give your money to the bank for X amount of time without withdrawing it, and they do a more aggressive investment of it than they would for your typical, liquid savings or checking account. Rates get better as the terms increase, and you get your money back when the CD 'matures'.

These days, CDs are actually pretty liquid also, with the caveat that you might pay back some of your earnings if you withdraw early.

It was a confusing site and it was unclear if I was eligible for Medicaid, but it did give out a list of 'Community Health Centers' that are basically the sliding-scale clinics I always heard about.

There's one in Toms River, which is where I'm currently staying. So. I have a phone number, and I should get off the laptop. Seeya later, all.

    Thanks Than.

I should mention that I'm 22, and about to go to college. We don't plan on staying in the condo. We will likely sell it when the market is up. Until then, we will rent it out to people to pay the mortgage.
