Our biggest refuge chambers can hold 50 people with enough food and water for about a month. The real problem is oxygen. Luckily they've bored some holes down to them, otherwise they'd be F'd in the A. without the big extractor fans pumping fresh air down there, it'd be mighty stuffy down there.
So after reading this thread, i went an had a look through our emergency response stuff here at work. It seems I was so utterly wrong about our chambers.
They can hold 30 people max and only have enough food, water and oxygen scrubbing equipment for 2-3 weeks, tops
We have the top of the range equipment too, so I'd imagine that the chilean equipment isn't up to our standard. Fuck that.

I hated getting stuck at work 45 minutes past closing. These guys better get free, instant retirement when they get out.
When they get down there they'll just find one morbidly obese man that is very good at impressions and 32 sets of skeletons.

Your pilot hole is fucking simple cause it's a 4 to 6 mm diameter hole.
The actual hole you need to drill takes a heck of a lot longer than that.
