Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I had a friend who was a semi-professional Halo guy. I'm not that into FPSes, but I had the chance to watch him play on one occassion.
It was quite ridiculous. He would be skimming along the battle, he'd notice someone 300 meters away, then he'd jump, zoom in the scope, and jam the joystick all in one motion. He got a headshot doing this almost every single time.
I do not understand people who can play with such an absurdly high sensitivity that they are able to line up a headshot taht fast, much less able to keep the reticule on the head while firing at the speed they go.

Though, Gabe and Tycho's job description includes "playing video games a bunch"

After playing Monday Night Combat for the first time last night I'm fully in favor of this comic. I got killed more times than I could count by things I couldn't see...
I really couldn't figure this out until I retelled the strip to a friend, pronounced the full sentence and had the epiphany afterwards.
"In this discussion of copyright [extension] it's actually appropriate to call it theft.
This music is being (preemptively) removed from the public domain; it's being stolen from the people."
If that woman's cleavedge made one more person pick the game up off the shelf, it was a net positive for microprose. And to be blunt, if taking her top off could have increased sales enough to get a sequel, I'd endorse it 100000% because I like playing great games.

Actually, that relies on a glitch in the game. If you strafe the scope quickly over someone, it'll automatically give you a headshot. Still takes practice to pull it off, but it's not godly super-human skill. Just mad 'sploits.

I thought the flag pole was connected to the gun at first.

On the other hand, I say that just because I'm 30.
Whereas with Grown-Ups, you can reminisce with them about playing text adventure PC games.
DaD comic? I hate it.
I pronounce it bee-log.
e. in the future flagpole is one and two words and the word shoots has disappeared altogether.
And people who edit things aren't watching Fringe at the same time.

I hate those fucking kids.

I believe it should be "god damn kids" and there should be some variation of "get off my lawn" involved.

they just want to be on the top of the scoreboard
playing halo with people who "play halo" for a hobby is like
fuck i don't know but it sucks
I'd like those "zones" you sign up for on Xbox Live to actually do something
I don't think they actually do anything
I'm in the "Recreation" zone but whenever I play a Halo or CoD they are like level 50 or 255th prestige
That's not Recreation zone type behavior!

It hit 10:30 and we were all "Man, alright...that was my last one."
This comic is both funny AND relevant.
