    The big book probably weighs about 50-60 pounds. I found the brown paper at Lowes. Comes in 150' rolls, 35 inches wide.

    I'm not digging the bright white and the way the signatures look so thick in the smaller book.

    However, I respect any artist that buys their paper at a hardware store.

    Whats the quality of the hardware store paper? Is it suitable for drawing?


    Also the urge to fucking draw in one of those is really overwhelming. They are just so badass.

    It's not awful paper. If you're just doing sketches on it, it is pretty nice stuff. But it is 'near ph neutral' so I wouldn't trust it for archival purposes.

    Havent updated in a while. This is an old project, but finally got it's display finished and photographed.
    The big book was always meant to sit on a lectern, but I never managed to finish it in time for the initial photography of my thesis exhibition.

    The legs are made of laminated maple, the book is steel with copper accents, paper, and sinew.

    Also. Since I don't have a proper metals studio to work in, I've been binding books to keep myself busy until I find something to do with my life. Here is a batch of three simple note books with linen paper, cardstock and vellum.
