I've tried to like that show. I just can't do it. It plays up the cliched nerd stereotypes a little bit too much.
I had an analogous issue with Will and Grace and gay stereotypes, but I got over it because Eric McCormack is so cute and charismatic.

It's only real flaw was that there wasn't a Garak, Humble Tailor spin off.
TNG is great but the first two seasons have such horrible shit in them it's not even worth it.
