My radio station did a zombie walk Friday night, and one of the local comic/record stores came and handed out promotional copies of the first comic. Would reading it before the show tonight be beneficial in any way?

not really? You might ruin some of the surprises I guess.
What is it with a bunch of zombie stories starting with a dude waking from a coma. I mean I know that The Walking Dead was like the first to do it but still.

I only read like the first issue in my Sci-fi class in High School, but so far the premier seems to be very similar.

Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. - Lincoln

It's an easy way to get to the zombie apocalypse without actually having to show the apocalypse itself.
Plus if our protagonist is waking up into a world that he has no foreknowledge of, then the audience gets to be introduced to it along with him. It's convenient when the main character has a legit excuse to ask everyone to spew exposition.
They need to make Lenny James a series regular in season 2.
If they are following the comic as closely as I've heard, it won't happen.
edit: Yeah that makes sense. A perfect way for the the main character to learn along with the audience.
Meh, they've said that they plan to deviate - and even if they do stick strictly to the comic, they'd catch up to that character again eventually. They can pick him up in season 2 around the same time they pick up Tyrese and Michonne, then end season 2 with the discovery of the prison.

the plot is essentially the same
but the characters are written a bit better
for example, Rick is way more believable as a southern cop
also the cinematography is killer

fuck that would be brutal
It's what...6 episodes per season with this? It might end with them finding it. I'd say maybe the end of Season 2 or maybe Season 3 would have that.
