Oh, are you shitting me? The only reason I didn't order it this time was that they sent you the cards in the mail, and mine never arrived from last year. Now they're finally e-mailing them instead? :x
I can't remember the exact context, but I seem to remember someone mentioning that there's an interesting platforming challenge in one of the cataclysm instances.

Heroic Vortex Pinnacle, probably, and the Extra Credit Bonus Stage achievement.

I got my deathy code too. Now the ultimate question. Redeem, or make 50 bucks on eBay?

  • reVersereVerse The shadow's come to stay Registered User regular
    50 bucks? Aim higher, man.

  • SniperGuySniperGuy Registered User, ClubPA regular
Well 50 is the approximate current price.

  • reVersereVerse The shadow's come to stay Registered User regular
    Wait a year or two.

  • bowenbowen Registered User regular
Yeah, why make $50 when you can make $5000. It's like printing fucking gold.

  • SniperGuySniperGuy Registered User, ClubPA regular
This is a very good point.

I'm still sad I don't have a Tyrael, but those are like 1200 bucks.

So a tank just yelled at me for not standing directly on Loken in HoL because "you take less damage when you're closer to him." Does that make any sense? Like I realized stacking allowed certain healers to heal through lightning nova better, but I've never heard this closer=less damage thing.

Besides Tripping the Rifts, is there going to be anything for us to "prove" that we helped stop the Elemental Invasion?

You know, like how the previous pre-expansion events gave us a tabard?

Also, what happened to the Elemental Pets (Scorchling, etc.)? Any word on where those are going to pop up?

Yup the further you are the more damage you take from his AoE. At least this used to be the case. That's why running away was particularly taxing on the healers. The fact that he dies in about 15 seconds anymore it doesn't even matter.

    Edit:

Pretty sure that's the case for his pulse AoE damage, and then the nova he casts is what's supposed to make the fight tricky (back on LK release, the nova would kill most people if they didn't run out, or come very close). I think I've seen a case or two where we pulled him and someone was way back by the previous trash mobs and got whacked pretty hard. That said, it's not usually an issue anymore since Loken dies in 4 seconds. Certainly not something to yell about.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a reward right at the end of the pre-expansion chain.

I'm assuming there's a pet gift on the way for the imminent sixth anniversary (Nov 22nd, isn't it?). Would make sense to see them then.

Interesting...according to MMO champion, latest beta build removes Shen'dralar from Insane in the Membrane.

Seems odd that a change would be made that makes this Feat easier, when we were all assuming it'll be impossible.

I should be happy, but FUCK, this just means I'll feel obligated to farm up Ravenholt and Darkmoon Fair rep now.

  • EmporiumEmporium Registered User regular
I'm happy they're making the change for the people who are still trying to get it, but at the same time I'm pissed they're leaving Bloodsail Buccaneers rep in. At least they've made it relatively easy to get to exalted now (much easier than before, at least).

There will also be a seperate FoS for those who got Shen'dralar rep to exalted before its removed, but it won't be put in until some patch in the future.

Paid race change to Goblin and Worgen immediately on Cataclysm launch:
With two new playable races just on the horizon, many players have been asking when they'll be able to convert their existing characters into goblins or worgen. Paid faction and race changes will be available immediately once Cataclysm is released. Realm First achievements for leveling any class to 85 will be available in Cataclysm. However there will be no Realm First achievements associated with leveling characters of a specific race.

There will be a slight change to the way paid services work for goblins and worgen. Goblin and worgen characters wishing to change race or faction cannot be in Kezan, Lost Isles or Gilneas; they must be elsewhere to initiate the process. There are no restrictions on race/faction change to goblin or worgen.

It was a bigger deal back when we were a utility class instead of another DPS Hybrid.

I don't have time to get into it right now, so let's just leave it at "totems are boring."

Totems are boring. My point is that they are STILL pretty much the same thing as they were back in BC - with about the same micro. There's just less button presses now (you can set them all at once) and you only really have to worry about Tremor (which was mostly true before unless you were in a fight where cleanses were important).

I think the most involved part of my BC experience was creating macros to explain to my target (always a Rogue) why he should take the poison off his mainhand to benefit from Windfury.

Man, memories. Always being kinda crappy on the DPS meters was kind of balls, but being a Godlike melee buffer was the best feeling ever. Everyone wanted to give me blowjobs.

Was talking about Vanilla, yer whippersnapper!

Earthbind kiting on Razorgore, alternating stoneskin and tremor on panther boss, twisting nature resist and windfury and grounding poison bolts on huhuran, boggling at casters running out of range of cleansing totems on Chromaggus, and timing fears so that bosses would only be off tanks for a bit (back when it pulsed every 5 instead of 3)...

Then whipping out an arcanite reaper with windfury and charging at the boss when nobody was looking.

What? Not like we had much else to do off rotation.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but does anyone have any recommendations for a good server/guild to aim to join? I'm going to be re-subbing for Cata and am looking for a stable and causal-friendly guild. Beyond those basic/obvious requirements, I'm not too picky. I'd prefer something PVP and Alliance-side, but I'd be interested in any guild if it's a good one.

Yeah, I'd like more details on the service. Is it available yet? Is it something you just turn on in account management or is there more rigamarole associated with it?

I'm curious what counts as a suspicious login origin, as well. Outside my city? State? Just a different IP period?

There's an FAQ on the wow main site. It does not detail what a suspicious login is though.

Detailing what exactly constitutes a "suspicious login" would be somewhat unproductive. Generally you don't want to explicitly tell would-be hackers the exact limitations of your security system.

I don't think anyone asked for anything exact, but explaining to people whether or not, say, logging in to their account to play SC2 at a friend's house will likely result in them having to call into some mysterious system would be useful.

Well it only affects your WoW login, so I doubt any SC2 related business would affect it (but hell there's still a chance it could!).
