Not 100% sure it was a Sedin to Sedin pass (it was a Sedin goal anyway), but first guy blind backhand passed it across the crease to an open Sedin, with it taking a helpful bounce off a Detroit player.

It was Sedin -> Kessler -> flubbed shot -> other Sedin -> net. Mostly luck in this particular case.

Also, incredibly inconsistent officiating in this game. Everything goes in the first, 4 penalties in the first 7 minutes in the second. And Datsyuk is hurt, some right wrist injury.

The biggest problem with losing Datsyuk is that they need Zetterberg for offense instead of just mercilessly hounding Sedins.

Yeah, he took a weird landing on a routine blocker save, but he played the last ~7min after the save that injured him, so I assume it isn't too bad.

I assume Rinne is getting the first start back tomorrow/after Lindback's loss tonight.

Not that this means Lindback isn't good, but Rinne was doing great so I assume he will retake the solid starter spot. Lindback is available if you(/anybody) want him.

Crosby is actually on pace for a career high in goals after scoring 51 last season. He is also dominating in the faceoff circle, winning 56.8-percent of his draws.

Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit -- While there are 20 players in the League with as many or more points than Datsyuk, he's got his 22 points in only 18 games and he's doing it as the No. 1 player on the No. 1 team in what has to be the No. 1 division in the NHL right now. He has 7 goals on just 44 shots and 15 assists for 22 points. He's had a point in all but three games and he's a plus-5.

No chance this is still correct after Sid's November/December. 22game point streak 22goals during it, a 12 game win streak during it, leads league in goals/points, tied for 2nd in assists.

He's first among rookie defenseman in scoring with 9 points, including 7 assists.

Number 1 Candidate isn't even on their list, Logan Coulture with his 18(19?) goals this season.

Zdeno Chara, Bruins -- Tim Thomas stole the early headlines in Boston, but a big reason he was able to do so was thanks to Chara, who is playing at near the same level as when he won the 2009 Norris Trophy. Chara isn't producing at the same level offensively -- 4 goals and 9 points in 19 games -- but he's a minutes-eating machine, averaging 26:41 per game, including 3:16 per game shorthanded, and he's always one-on-one with the opposition's best forwards.

Lilies and Zedeno aren't bad by any strech, but currently? Letang and Byfugicantspellyournamelin are ahead of both. No idea where ESPN gets their predictions for this trophy actually. Visnovsky, 3rd? Elder 5th? I disagree.

Coming off a 39-win season that set a new franchise mark, Quick may get a few extra nights off now that Bernier is in town as his backup, but he's made the most of every opportunity the Kings have given him. Quick is 11-3-0 with a 1.90 GAA (second in the NHL) and .931 save percentage (fifth).

Joe Sacco, Colorado Avalanche -- A finalist for the Jack Adams Award last season (his first as a head coach in the NHL), Sacco is once again doing a dynamite job in Colorado. Even without No. 1 goalie Craig Anderson, who missed nearly a month with a knee injury, Sacco's Avs marched on behind some solid play by backup Peter Budaj. With 25 percent of the 2010-11 season complete, the Avalanche are atop the Northwest Division at 12-7-1.

Jonathan Toews, C, Chicago Blackhawks -- Again, not your prototypical defensive forward, but he's the team's No. 1 penalty-killing forward and has 24 takeaways, good for a fifth-place tie in the League. When it comes time for the all-important shorthanded faceoff, Toews has won 48-of-80 draws (60 percent) and, overall, he's winning faceoffs at almost the same rate.

Those look good, but I'm sure it'll go to Datsyuk again.
