i get so depressed about my weight

Look, granny panties don't flatter any ass type. Get yourself some boy shorts or a nice thong.

it's not even that i don't like the way i look

it's that sometimes my craving for shit food is indescribably intense and, in talking myself out of indulging, i legitimately think "i'd rather die than get fat again"

like, the concept of going back to 300 lbs makes me mildly suicidal

I think you need to find another way to deal with those cravings.

He's treated like that in the book, though (well, as a "Good Guy", not a villain). He's held up as an ideal, not a real person. He's a two dimensional character.

I just want movie John Galt to be like, a straight up stereotypical Mexican, with an oversized sombrero, a maraca in each hand, and a terribly sequined mariachi uniform.

That way Objectivists can deal with their latent racism in a productive manner

There's this homeless dude who hangs out near the grocery store next to my house a lot of evenings. We have I guess a rapport. I give him change and he talks to me for a few minutes and is very polite. I am on a waiting list to volunteer at a place near my house, it just sucks to see people in that situation and be powerless about it.

Sort of glad the holidays are over as I can

    a) Get back to work
    b) Get out of my redneck shit hole of a home town
    c) Go to the grocery store without listening to the girl the Salvation Army hired violently flagellate her bell while texting her BFF.

I think I might go to the makeup store in Yorkdale and be like "listen I have dolla to spend but I am 20 years old and don't know anything about makeup, halp."

But the makeup store is MAC and I'm afraid they'll make me look like a whore.

My mom has taken on the habit to not wait between knocking on my door and opening it. She tends to do this late in the evening after I said good night.

This is by far the best way for her to make me wish I lived on my own.

Okay thank you for the recommendation. I went to a place near my house and there was this dude who was like "WELL YOU NEED FOUNDATION, IS YOUR SKIN OILY OR DRY?" and I was like "...Neither?" and we went back and forth before I decided he was trying to push shit I didn't need on me.

Well, in philosophical novels this is more often the case, that archetypes are used. Most people who subscribe to Ayn Rand's newsletter never got the memo that these weren't supposed to be real characters, unfortunately.
