I started playing Black Ops again a few days ago. I play it on my ps3. My PSN is DouglasDanger. I sort of lost my edge in the 7 weeks I didn't play, but I am having fun most of the time. I am bad at videogames, I tend to have a negative k/d ratio, but I have fun anyway.

A positive kills per death ratio means you have more kills than deaths. A negative k/d means you are killed more times than you kill.

I find myself playing maps I never played in Merc TDM before, Radiation, Jungle, those snowy ones that are not Array, Cracked. Man, I don't know these maps. Well, I know them from playing Domination with my old co-workers, but I don't know what to do in them for TDM. (I know, shoot guys dur dur.)
I'm also figuring out my play style, loadouts, perks, weapons etc all over again, and desperately looking for Sentry Gun so I can get Ghost Pro.
The flamethrower attachment is kickass. So damn vicious. It looks awesome as hell on an M14. I really really want to unlock the AK47.

But I climbed back to level 20 at like 1 lvl per match, and i went from 12 to 21 yesterday (maybe 23 even).
I am on my grind again.

Yeah I have to agree with you although the difference is subtle it does look worse.
It almost feels like the texture resolution is lower. Still a fun game, I put a fair amount of time into and prestiged twice but it never felt as good as MW2.
Ive just started playing BC2 with a friend and its quite fun, although the customization isnt nearly as deep

I managed to prestige before I even owned the game. That was fun.
I got bored of Bad Company 2 very quickly.
It's just so slow and clunky.
Also excepting the launcher all my guns felt like nerf compared to whomever was shooting me.
Also it takes way to long to unlock anything.
heck, it may not have the numerical advantage in the sheer amount of guns that call of duty has but the guns behave with pretty decent physics

Until you shoot a guy two times in the face with a shotgun slug and he kills you in one hit with a grenade launcher or sniper rifle.
Really the only gun I had fun with was the The Motherfucker, Sir Carl Gustav.
Blowing shit up with that was the best time.
Like when I took out a black hawk with one shot from the hip after seven of my buddies missed.
EDIT: The worst guns by far are the SMGs, I swear three magazines to kill one dude!

Also, is BC2 way way better than the first one? Like, my opinion of BC1's multi was pretty negative, BC2 would have to be almost unrecognizable to make me interested

I didn't like the SP as much as BC one though.
Me and my roomies have been looking for a 4th in our squad. We have engineer, recon, and myself as medic. We could use a good gunner.

I suck as a gunner, but I suppose I can try it.
I usually play Engi because I am damn good with the launcher.

the kits have been fleshed out and the vehicles do not seem like an afterthought this time around
also, i like the idea of having vehicle mods which actually makes each encounter with a vehicle pretty different depending on who you're against
