Yeah, I'm assuming that Little Sisters will somehow take cover or interpose a Protector between themselves and trouble or hide in little hatches someplace or something. I doubt they'll be invulnerable in the "ah-ha, now a point-blank grenade to the face and wah?" sense.
EDIT: Urgh. Slow Ed is slowwwwwww.
Problem with cover is there's not much to stop me ignoring combat and seeking out the sister, so I'm still assuming there's more to it than the AI deciding to stand behind something.
Well, that forum quote relieves a lot of worries I had with this one.

I was about to come in here all "dude they totally broke the immersion thing".
Then Ken gave a very reasonable explanation as to why- there are a finite amount of them and they kept getting caught in the crossfire, removing the intended impact. The only reason they're immune to everything but extraction is specifically so you have to see them face-to-face.
Compare to when swords went by the wayside in warfare in favor of guns. It's easy to kill from a distance; you never see who you're killing. Try standing right in front of him and running him through the heart, screams and all. Now how easy is it?

I have a new soccer blog The Minnow Tank. Reading it psychically kicks Sepp Blatter in the bean bag.

We all know that modders will make it so that you can kill-kill them and not just harvest them with the pc version.
If you look at the videos they run around for cover.
what the hell for?
They seem to go ow when they get hit in the videos. Perhaps it still hurts them. Perhaps healing uses up precious Adam. Perhaps they're got a phobia of walking through flames and getting shot at. Perhaps they want to make the job easier for their Big Daddies. Perhaps the developers wanted to keep the sense of immersion as much as possible. Perhaps they can still get killed, and it'll just be in scripted situations.

Well I'd only kill real men, who look you right in the eyes and then push the sword deeper into their own chest.
The fact that they even included the ring is kinda surprising.
edit: Wedding Ring that is.
The what now? What is that supposed to look like to me?
Also, even though it's a reasonable explanation that they died to often, it annoys me a bit that trigger-happy moron characters don't have to deal with "Wait... all the ADAM is gone... oops!" And this whole back and forth on "we didn't want it to be all about killing children" vs. "now you super have to kill children and feel bad!" is annoying. Whether it's so I don't or so I care more when I do, I don't really enjoy a very wide-open game restricting me like that.
Did I not read a book or something? Is there a goat-based equivalent to Star Wars that just never came my way?
I'm pretty sure these guys are in the Illuminati or something. Soon the both of us will receive terminal visits from Men in Black for reading this thread.

If you don't know what it is, consider yourself blessed, blessed, thrice blessed. And DON'T investigate any further. You stand upon the brink of Google-related doom.
As soon as I read the first post I said "Levine will put in a good way to implement the Little Sister's invulnerability." I tend to give Devs the benefit of the doubt on unreleased games.

Wouldn't you run around the corner if there were bullets and grenades flying everywhere?
Presumably because the ingame/in-universe reason for their invulnerability isn't "so you have to interact with them up-close and personal".
I imagine in Half-Life 2 my allies aren't really bulletproof and rocket proof, because- oh. That guy just got shot in the face.

I wonder how long it'll take before that gets on your nerves. I hate canned repetitive responses with a small pool to choose from.
*stabbity surgery-type nastiness ensues*
Look familiar?;-)
I'm sure they're not all gonna be like that.
Come on, folks, it's the freaking System Shock people. Have a little faith.

It's got a kinda Capra aegagrus look to it. I saw one once whilst surfing around the Christmas Islands, not something you forget in a hurry.
Wait. Am I going insane? It looks like a goat with a wedding ring?
... which is familar?

And sure enough I was right.
...what?
From the christmas islands.
Wow. I am proud I didn't get that.
The rest of you I am worried about.
Still: goats? What? Islands? What?
EDIT: Apparently I am a fucking moron.
Although I am better than anyone who can recognize the fucking wedding ring you freakos.
I FINALLY GOT IT
OH FUCK WHY DID I HAVE TO GET IT
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tribes Vengeance.
I even got the first "goats" hint and still didn't click- I was like "how is that related to this?"
GOD NO
SOMEONE HOLD ME
Freedom Force.
Could have been good if they hadn't split their resources over single and multi.
And it had sold.
And the fans had supported it.
And the publisher had supported it.
In the words of the artist who made it, "I'm positively agape!"
Tribes Vengeance had one of the best narratives in a videogame.
But man, on the whole?
A blemish and a murder.
Please excuse me while I cradle my childhood.
