That's fine, I'll leave it quoted for posterity. And I'm sure we'll all work something out, I'm just saying if anyone needs a ride within an hour or two from me I'll be more than willing to pick them up.

Also, you wouldn't be the first person to poop in my car.

Tubing owns what are you talking about. I've tubed down the Comal, the Frio and parts of the Rio Grande. It's always awesome.

    Always.

How do you go pee when you need to?

    Supposedly in the river.

Anyway, we could make this a few days worth of a thing if we plan it in the summer if people want to go tubing as well.

I did a seating assessment of my car and figured out that I can comfortably fit four total, or uncomfortably fit 6.

Drop off your tube, pee in the river.

Alternatively, crash your tube into the nearest land and pee in the woods. Then catch back up.

All reasons quoted above are why tubing is no bueno.

But I'd be happy to have hotdogs and veggie burgers waiting at the end for those of your with sea legs. I'm easy.

Sometimes we would stand up on our tubes and pee into the river from up there.

I am regularly able to go a couple of hours without peeing. That's how I tube without peeing.

Tubing is awesome. But, not unless it's 90ish degrees or more.

The Frio river is called that for a reason. I went in the middle of July and it felt like it was around -20 degrees.

also, it sounds like austin has been decided(i've never been there), but just to let everyone know as an option: I do have 12 free passes to the san antonio zoo and I can have small groups meet an animal and I can talk your stupid ears off if you wanted to hear about zoo life. Austin is maybe an hour away from san antonio.
I go there every day, so I won't care if you don't wanna go.

It really wouldn't be hard to bounce between the two cities for a day to hit the Zoo.

If we're dead set on a road trip to Austin, I vote for a two day affair.

I have my Explorer, gets fairly decent mileage for a 6-cylinder, so I can take up to three passengers comfortably. It needs to be noted that I drive very safely, like someone's paranoid grandmother.

We could get walkie-talkies for the convoy.

Breaker, breaker, got a chickenhead with a rubber ducky, over.

like i said in yukira's mass pm

    i'm down for whatever

i'm in school until may though, and sometime in june i'll be in vegas for the wsop, and july i'll have summer school, but all of this is manageable provided i have a date in mind and can request off for work and plan around school and shit.

tubing would be best done after may, if that was something people are interested in.

    alamo drafthouse sounds excellent.

but if ya'll figure out a date i can promise a 70% or better chance of being able to attend. unless ya'll do this in march or april, both of those months are insane.

    right.

    but like i said.

i'm terrible at arranging dates and keeping them.

provided a week or two heads up and i can make just about anything. but march i'll be in the netherlands for 9 days, and april i'll be bouncing around college station/ san marcos/ austin

I have a truck that can hold another person - perhaps two if they're skinny.

And the walkie talkie idea is AWESOME. I could probably pick up a couple of FRS radios on the cheap. Google says Austin and San Antonio are only an hour and a half apart.

This is a doable distance for a kick-ass zoo visit!

If anyone wants to give me a call, I'm at work right now and bored... we can maybe discuss some details, get a conference call goin or something... 713.416.3019.

So, Do we want to do this in February? Maybe the end of? That'll give me time to request time off and it'll give me a chance for my next check to get here. I'll have about 200 hours on this next one, so it'll be monies ho!

Well, in all likelihood I would be gone in April so March would be okay for me.

Also: blue man group coming to Houston in the beginning of March. If anyone's interested, I'll be going with a few friends. :)

Posted my preferences and such. Basically I'm free anytime besides now through april. I live in Denton, so I'll be able to pick up anyone south of there for carpooling. I can seat 4 comfortably (I drive a toy car). Also, if anyone is interested in a DFW meetup, I know the area pretty well.

We can certainly do two TexPAX's if a few can't meet until May or June.

Also, is anyone interested in driving to PAXPrime? I don't know if I am, but a road trip through Colorado would be awesome.
