The only time I hear the radio is when I unplug my ipod to pick out different music

My radio is set to some Mexican merengue/cumbia/salsa station

So it is basically all awesome

there's only one band on that list that I've heard and liked

I wish there was something catered to my closed-minded tastes :P

It better be the Black Keys

    Gorillaz

but I haven't heard the keys

listen to their most recent album

    you'll love it

i did, and now i'm listening to their entire back catalog

I would like to pause for a moment, to talk about my penis.
My penis is like a toddler. A toddler—who is a perfectly normal size for his age—on a long road trip to what he thinks is Disney World. My penis is excited because he hasn’t been to Disney World in a long, long time, but remembers a time when he used to go every day. So now the penis toddler is constantly fidgeting, whining “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Now? How about... now?”
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.

I first heard the Black Keys sometime last year when Last.fm played them on a Tom Waits station for me

I don't remember exactly when it was, but it was definitely before Zombieland came out

now I have all of their albums, they are so fantastic

At best I can just tolerate the White Stripes.

Kings of Leon are like the shittiest band in their neighborhood of the Pandora map who have inexplicably became the most famous and successful.

Hey Soul Sister reached the point where it made me violently ill about five months before it started appearing on commercials.

That concludes this list of things discussed in this thread that I feel like commenting on because Nickelback is beneath comment.

Except "rock" is about the most general term for any genre of anything.

I wouldn't say it's shitty sounding but their change in producer was definitely a downgrade.

They become important when they're attached to a certain subculture. Which pop music inherently isn't, so terms like pop-rock are a paradox.

I can't remember the last time I heard a good song on the radio

I think its finest hour has came and went

you just have to find a good radio station

I found a station around here that plays all sorts of stuff. Decemberists, White Stripes, Mumford & Sons, Gorillaz, Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, Broken Bells, etc. Best radio station I've ever heard.

We only just got a radio station like this this year. Literally the first time I've heard the Black Keys on the radio.

A good point but The Beatles and Led Zep had their own memorable style, both musically and look-wise.

Then you've got, for example, Metalcore where every band looks (and sounds) exactly the same because it's popular and why do things differently when samey shit gets you $$$?
