I would assume a lot of comedians would be pretty good rappers. I mean, they are certainly clever enough. Especially since a lot of rap is taking shots at other people/things.
I think the issue is most comedians do not have the self confidence that exhibits itself in most rap. Im not sure in Donglover is faking it or if he realizes he is badass and lets it out with dope rhymes.
I love this considering her self-righteous "I have a gay friend, and it's totally cool. I'm soooo not homophobic" arc from last week. But, like in the football episode, one of her go to insult is "gay."
I don't think she's using it as an insult.
I think she just has a very naive notion of what the term means and keeps applying it in inappropriate situations.
That's kind of a running theme for her; she loves to seem like she has life experience that she actually doesn't.
It's pretty consistent with her beliefs on anyone masculine being a repressed homosexual. Look at her attitude towards fighting in the first season Christmas episode.

The "Manly man is really a closet queen" is a pop culture staple that has minimal grounding in reality. But she has adopted it because she thinks that's how it actually works and the image that she's cultivated requires her to be at least conversant in gay culture.

I knew he was clever enough, far more clever by far than most rappers, but I'm always skeptical of people who just rap (or do anything really) on the side. Rappers who try to act. Comedians who try to rap. Actors who try to sing. Branching out often fails hard.
donglover is a decent rapper, not elite. Rapping well is an actual skill, it's not as easy as people seem to think. (and that's not all there is to being a rapper or producing good music) You can't just do it without work. Shit's poetry man.

My wife dvr's Big Bang Theory and we watch that after Community, I don't think I laughed once because Community set the bar so high. The only other thing I can remember making me laugh this hard lately was last week's Parks and Rec ("it rubbed off")

I think they have achieved the nearly impossible. Actual realistic take on Friends with Benefits. I am so on Team Annie however I have known so many couples that are similar to Britta and Jeff... those are those long haul on/off relationships filled with flavour that's sometimes hard to watch but you always want to see what happens next.
PS: My dad (Who is an old white man, swear to god they all look alike at some point) did not feel this episode at all. I think it's because they picked on the old white man in his opinion.
Community doing better than Perfect Couples is good news.
For Community anyway, PC is not long for this world. You don't drop in viewers on the half hour when most of your "competition" is hour-long shows. It also means people are tuning in specifically for Community.
It was also competing against BBT and American Idol.
It was a pretty well-produced track, sounded a good bit like Wayne. I'm not a big fan of rap like that though, the kind of flashy stuff that lacks much substance.

last night I felt like perfect couples actually hit a stride. don't think there are many fans of it here but for some reason each week I say 'oh right that show is on now, I should turn it off' and then I don't.
and this week I finally feel comfortable saying I enjoyed it rather than that it was a very mixed bag
I caught my first viewing of perfect couples last night. It was...sufficient.
The waitress from Sunny brings a bit of Sunny style quick-mean dialogue to the show. When they called her with the photo of the dead possum it definately had a sunny vibe. You can tell shes married to charlie.
I also enjoyed the desire for pranks. "Is this possum here as a result of a classic prank?"

I was very pessimistic about Olivia Mun's inclusion into the show at first, I've heard about her before from G4 and I've seen her a couple times as a correspondant on the Daily Show, but I'm actually glad to say she's been proving my pessimism unnecessary. She's actually quite good.

I have really liked this season so far though I am a little sick of how terrible Pierce acts.
Disrupter was saying earlier how they really have captured his utter GIMPness, for lack of a better word. And it's true-- I think most of his relatability comes from how he is That Guy that virtually every group has at some point. Pierce is definitely the Gimp of the Community crew. I guess I wish he were characterized in a way that would make him a little more pitiable/relatable/less obstreperous rather than constantly zoning in on the annoyance factor with him.
Jeff beating up Pierce (who wrecks his car to get away), these are not funny?
