Heads from Friday uninstructed workshops. I wanted to show what my skill level is on my own and how I evolved dramatically with this school.

I think this is the first time I've seen your art, but I've heard so much about it :)

Good stuff. Absolutely all of it was fantastic. The skull cubes are brilliant. I could look at an entire gallery of those.

Really what can i say aside from how awesome this stuff is? My only gripe i guess would be that i would love to see some finished stuff in addition to these awesome studies.

harryk- Thanks haha a lot of people are digging that design!

Iruka-Hahaha thanks ;w;bbb I hope to get to render some stuff out for Dominance War coming up!

GodFather- Yeauh it's the Frank Reilly method it's super cool to draw with.

Earthwormadam- Fahaha ;w; N-no that roof can stay where it is at it is probably happier and snug. But ahh nice to see your still around!

    Ninjai- WHAT SCANDOLOUS RUMORS!?

Hahah thanks ;w; I hope to do more of the skull studies

    Obilex- Hahah thanks!

Naked Zergling- Hopefully soon! I'll be doing an Illustration to my concept piece for Dominance War V. It starts March 5th I believe? But I've done tons of rendered out stuff for work, sadly NDA's

Great progress Amber, I particularly like this quicksketch page:
    093th.jpg

It's also great to have someone so skilled attend Watts. I promise I will start taking classes again soon so you can know the truly great feeling of having me in your class.

P.S. Loomdun's camera isn't cutting it. I am happy to shoot your work for you if you want to walk up here after class some time.

Thanks for sharing your studies and roughs, Ikage. Seeing other peoples processes are always interesting.

I'm curious what makes your second term drawing skills better than your first?
    114wi.jpg

Is is mainly better understanding of form and expressing volume? Your skills are way beyond mine, but I wouldn't mind having something to shoot for.

These are phenomenal! I read/lurked your last thread and love this one already. Everything looks so fluid and just plain awesome! I would love to get back into sketching and drawing, I don't remember if you have any tutorials - I know you have put notes on things you have drawn. I have no clue where to start, I bought all the supplies and grabbed all the Loomis books, I still feel like I have no idea where to start. Any tips?

in the little landscape that cloud feels really close and thick, its also about the exact same size as the island so it feels a little awkward. I dig it tho..

Cakemikz-Haha thanks Ryan there are little Jeff drawings snuck in there like Easter Eggs.

Oh gooooddd it will be awesome to see you there again haha!

I...i..might take you up on this offer at the end of term haha.

Nibcrom-Thanks Nib I think doing what the teachers tell me to do and getting used to the pencil. Usually best course of action. Also studying in my spare time helped a lot.

Life studies are the best way to go for studying form and volume. It's as 3d as you can get!

cardboard delusions-There are quite a lot of books out there, like Michael Hamptons Figure and Invention or Bridgman and what not. And just grinding it out everyday and think about what your doing, what your lines/tones are achieving when you put them down as well. Is it a good line and does it define what I'm trying to convey?

If its a bad line then why is it a bad line? Did my knowledge of anatomy fail? Did I measure wrongly? Is my comparative measurement working? Just thinking about -what- your doing helped a ton too. Because it helped me locate weaknesses faster and make little study plans around what would help strengthen it.

    pineappleherb- Thanks so much ;w;bb

F87- Thanks so much. Hope that photobucket helps!

Ken- Hahah thanks I hope to make even more when I am taking classes at CGMW for environments whenever there next term is.

    Flay- Hahaha Flay ;w;bbb

Koch- I might not make this year due to jobs and being in Dallas. BUT MABBE I HOPE.

DDV- People brilliantly kicking my ass everyday and showing that I have so much to learn? Gotcha!

    rfilyaw- hahah thanks ;w;bbb

Godfather-I'll be visiting for a day March 30th and sometime in April moving down. But that would be cool God Father!

Ken- CGMW are online classes which look prettty cool so trying an environment one to help my skill set. I'll PM you back soon with some stuff tomorrow, been crazy busy with work and school.

Metalbourne- Not sure I'll research into it and get some links for you soon though.

Pthano- I will collect on this one day.

Tam- Hahah thanks! I'm gearing up for Dominance War V and also starting on a pet project on making a mock videogame. Trying to decide on a lighthearted cartoon style one or a more grown up realistic one.

Dominance War's topic this time is gods, I'm just going to sketch up a bunch of gods until one sticks.

    omnom.jpg

Om nom got sealed up underground and with all the noise from above he has finally awoken again. And with the battlefields are splayed out like a all you can eat buffet now he is just going to town. His tendril spikes break off and regenerate so he doesn't end up singeing himself in his acidic cauldron of a tummy.

I'll post more silhouettes next time I kind of just made this guy on the fly to get warmed up for the competition.

Next sketch I'm going to do is going to be based on these things.

If that guy's bell thing on the top of his head is destroyed you should make whatever magic that's holding him up on those spindly legs break, resulting in a dramatic collapse. But that just pisses him off so he rolls over you like silly putty. Which is worse, being disolved in acid or suffocating underneath all that.

Also, I love the shapes you use to construct your figure drawing studies. Is that a Watts thing that's rubbed off on you or your own. They look like 3D puzzles, with each part locking into the next.
