If you're heading vaguely northernly, TBH, come give us a visit!

My local pub is having a sort of party thing but the landlord feels the need to tell everyone how ANTIMONARCHY he is and that this is merely a HOLIDAY and the exact event is of NO CONSEQUENCE.

    I guess he's a republican publican

Having a party here, for it.

Well, technically it's more of a picnic that happens to coincide.

But I don't even feel bad, because my lack of ability to remember Kate Middleton's first name lost us a point at trivia last week.

    Whereabouts in England?

    Fly into london

    ???

wake up in Le Mans on the 4th

I was gonna visit my cousin but it doesn't look like it's happening so it's all wide open.

I want to hit up plymouth, and yeah I want to go north as well. Not too worried about spending time in london

This is amusing, because my English friend can't stand the royal family, thinks they're a massive waste of time and money, and wishes them to be done away with.

I've spent four whole days in London. It was a fun trip, I learned that the train ride from the airport to London took longer than flying between countries, there are wonderful, fantastic sandwich shops and that some of my friends are psychopaths.

Thankfully, this is a day off, except that Thursday is my last day of work so I wouldn't be working this Friday anyway.

Of course, half the country will be shut down and it'll be difficult to move to Surrey this weekend because of it : (

So .. yay holiday for most people .. boo it affects my plans to be rich and famous and infamous and stuff.

Lifetime movie network made a movie about their love story that premieres soon, complete with dopplegangers speaking in bad accents. I saw commercials for it. Why was I watching LMN? Because its awesome

they sound kinda bad, but i have no ear for language

though the whole movie sounds dreadful

this uk critic sums it up best:
There are movies so bad that they transcend awfulness. Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space and Glen or Glenda? perhaps, or Troll 2. And then there is William and Kate: The Movie.

Coming to a DVD outlet near you shortly. So bad it's awful, toe-curlingly, teeth-furringly, pillow-bitingly ghastly. You begin to wonder what the happy young couple have done to deserve this. It will probably be a smash.

I once found a site where some group had an interactive map of all accents on the British Isles, complete with interviews and transcripts. It was really neat! My favourite was the 50 year old Scottish miner where you could understand like two words every sentence. It was one of the only interviews without a transcript and I assume it's because the interviewer didn't know what the hell the guy was saying either.

I'm willing to say it's about 50/50, out of my current work place there are 16 people on my team, minus the 4 foreigners (myself included) around 7 are going to be watching the event religiously, the rest don't care/hate the royals.

I can understand royalists getting all frothy excited over this.

I can understand the media in Commonwealth countries going stupid for this, because the old ducks who actually watch the 6:00 news and buy the gossip mags that are running all these 'features' will eat it up and make them some serious bank.

What I don't understand is Faux News going stupid over this. Republican? Does anybody there remember what that word means?
