My whole problem with the "not real children thing" can be summed up as thus:

In order to become a good artist, especially of the human form, you need to study anatomy.

As I'm sure we can all agree, what you looked like when you were 5 is much different from when you were 25.

How are these artists approaching any degree of realism without "studying anatomy"?

That's just my line of thinking.
