Finally found a commission I'm supposed to be working on. An ancient warhammer dragon, I mean it has to be nearly a decade old or more, back in the days of second edition or something.
Well I mean really I lost it in one of my trunks for quite some time. I finally got around to filing every godamn belly scale down because of a moldline which ran down its centre. Also pinned and used a two part epoxy with super glue added afterwards to hold the joints. Bloody thing is heavy.
I also made movement trays for my squads

My goal of finishing my Hormagaunt squad ended with 4 mudbathed Hormagaunts, one of which had the red done completely.
Then I pulled a muscle in my back and can't bend over a painting table. Joy. I've also lost a lot of enthusiasm for painting my bugs since I started getting into fantasy. I just want to paint my vampire counts that I don't have yet.
That's Imrik's dragon from, I think, the second 4th edition (or maybe it was early 5th) army book. 1997 or so.

Are you sure that dragon is from Warhammer? It looks identical to an ancient D&D model I had. A Kyrnn silver dragon. Maybe brass? I'm not sure. Had a rider with a lance, but the scale was about 2/3 of Warhammer.

That's definitely Imrik's dragon; I can see Imrik himself in bits behind it.
Is that what that hideously gaudy models name is? And yeah, it's a warhammer model, from third/fourth edition of warhammer fb I believe (box is dated 1994, and the model is certainly prior to the new plastic kits of the dragons [which look so much better as well])
And yes I'm sure that dragon is warhammer, it's ancient but the box is pretty clearly labelled HIGH ELF LORD ON DRAGON.
Looks more like Elton John on a dragon but whatever.

welp, too bad there are never any women at the GW store. Looks like they'll be around a while.

Hey, that prophecy was only about that one specific guy. And, like all prophecies, dude should have known better than to believe it was totally awesome at face value. Plus we can just throw ratlings at him until he gives up and goes home.

Actually, if that picture is from the store I think it is they used to have this amazingly charming woman there on staff. Haven't seen her in a while though...
And with this, I have a 1,500 point effective Space Wolves army.

There are some acts so ruthless, some deeds so unpalatable, that only the Vlka Fenryka are capable of undertaking them. It's what we were bred for. It's the way we were designed. Without qualm or sentiment, without hesitation or whimsy. We take pride in being the only Astartes who will never, under any circumstances, refuse to strike on the Allfather's behalf, no matter what the target, no matter what the cause.
Infinity is the bomb. I just ordered the Nomad Uberfallkommando.

My main issue with starting other games is my group of freinds just won't play them. 40k is what we've played for ~20 years, and 40k is what we play. Even other GW games. My brother and I tried to get them into Epic and BFG, and after a few games, we were back to 40k.
It's awesome that we finally encouraged one friend enough to get into Fantasy, and we only did that by my brother bribing him with his High Elf army.
Aha! to be able to play games with my models. What a thought.
Joining a Blood Bowl league was great in that way. It made me play with my teams which had been boxed up painted and ready for like 6 years.
Also, I keep dreaming up new teams I want to glue together and play.
And speaking of Blood Bowl. I'm making progress with the pitch. Flocked it yesterday and today I will seal it and try out the stencil painting. I will post pictures once I have a bit more progress.
Going to play 40K this week, for the first time in ages. Tonight I'm up against Imperial Guard, and on sunday I'm facing those pesky Dark Eldar. So I prepared a little something for them:
Nice work as always Niklas! I particularly like the tracks.
Thanks Mago! It's just a mix of PVA, sand and Scorched Brown, with a Calthan Brown drybrush after the mix dried.

They are some of the best Ultramarines I've seen Niklas. Good to see those old fogeys given some attention. Most Ultramarines I see are painting practice for newbies.
The following people are amazing and I love them: Wildcat, Timspork, Kias, Denada, susan, Sharp101, [GHSC]Ryctor, Matev, Matrias, ItBurns, Slapnuts, Dayspring, see317, and the unknown poster that sent me a box of Death Company! If you get them as Santees you should buy them amazing things!
I've said this before, but I've got a stash of RT era marines that I will one day strip and paint up all fancy like. i used to have the idea of doing them as Crimson Fists (being the original marine poster boys and all) bit now I'm thinking ultras.

It's a High Elf. It's not worth pointing out how hideously gaudy it is. It's what they do. They do it better than fighting.
