Like, will they use Gabe's artstyle? I doubt very much that any of the movie advertisements will be like "FROM THE CREATORS OF PENNY ARCADE"
I mean it's neat they got an idea out there and I hope the movie sees the light of day but I wonder about these things

Fantasy boy scouts as a concept is startlingly good and even imagining where it goes with a robust visual style as a movie is great. But Lookouts the comic also had an edge (may we die in the forest) and it certainly cribs from every fantasy trope out there. I mean didn't they say in the podcast that the scout leader is literally aragorn or something?

Probably because once Gabe mentioned it possibly becoming a film, Whitta got involved and took it to studios on that basis, rather than the studios plucking it from nowhere.

Glad you guys are as excited for the project as we are. We created the property specifically for this purpose and we think we've fojnd some really great partners in both Gary and paramount. Btw, massive kudos to whitta on all of this. He wrote a fantastic treatment that went along with the comic pitch - he's the man.
