yeah a lot of people have done the same. I can't imagine all these calls are just gonna go ignored.

I will drive right over to Japan and give them a piece of my mind.

Why is everyone having a shitfit over a soundtrack for a 13 year old game that I'm pretty sure is available online for free (legally) anyway?

Get the tracks and burn yourself a cd, and enjoy this amazing game. I can't believe the guy up there is disgusted by this game because some stores had sold out and he had a hard time registering for his soundtrack,
this rendering him unable to allow himself to play the game?

  • VariableVariable The Excellence of Execution Calgary, Albert CARegistered User regular
that's a bit much (not playing the game over it)

but personally I'm talking about it so much because 1) I don't know of it being available online legally 2) even if it is, I want to own a limited edition cd from nintendo for one of my favorite games ever, especially since I specifically pre ordered the game to get said soundtrack 3) talking about weird issues like this online is how I make sure I don't miss out. if there's a solid solution that pops up, I want to know about it. if it wasn't for these discussions, I wouldn't have known to bother to call.

I can appreciate that it's taking up space that, today of all days, ought to be devoted to the beautiful game they just released, but I think for a day or two there will be side comments about the soundtrack and what those of us who got screwed by a website issue can do about it.

myself, I hope to be starting on the game when I get to my uncle's house for father's day dinner. if I can play without getting shit for being distracted :D

Wanting the soundtrack for collectable reasons etc is cool, I was just perplexed by how upset that other guy was over it.

I collect Nintendo swag. Specifically Zelda and Mario, getting shafted out of what I consider a collectible is hard on the stomach. But it's not the first time for me, so I am comfortable with it.

Registered the game an hour ago and didn't get the popup. I thought they were already out of stock, but they're still offering it on the rewards page so I sent a quick e-mail.

    Game looks BEAUTIFUL, btw.

No, it's not available legally. If you download them from the internet, you're doing it illegally. The music is protected under copyright just like any other music, and Nintendo has never given anyone permission to distribute it.

They've been advertising for two weeks or so that people who register the game first will get the CD. They decided to hinge it on a page that only pops up once, instead of giving users a link they can click to redeem the CD, so there's no way for users to handle errors. They've handled this horribly and people have a right to be upset about it.

Registered the game on my iPhone shortly after walking about of Best Buy this morning.

No word if I'm getting a soundtrack. Sent them an e-mail about an hour ago.

If I knew it would be this much trouble I would have slept in.

I know I shouldn't have posted when I was in a bad mood, and no, the game isn't permanently ruined for me or anything like that; I overreacted, it happens, life goes on. (I also noted that mine was very much a First World problem, i.e. I know that it's not important, but that seemed to go unnoticed. :P) Still, collectable game swag is a nice thing to have, and Nintendo should have implemented a better system than a flash popup that may or may not appear for their special bonus. IIRC to get a special stylus for Phantom Hourglass, all you had to do was register by a certain date; maybe they should have just picked a date or a certain number of people, and made the order appear automatically for them.

I'm pretty sure they'll fix it in some way; Nintendo have excellent customer service.

Anyway, the graphics and frame rate are a huge improvement. I like the new look.

We all get upset over gaming stuff, I was being a bit too harsh towards you. I do agree that they'll likely send a sound track to everyone, or at least everyone that bothered to call or email them about it today.

The game is beautiful and the 3D impressive, but is anyone else having a much harder time keeping the "sweet spot" perfectly in front of you? I can't tell if I'm moving my head or something but I'm losing the 3D focus a lot

OoT3D is in my Gamefly queue (couldn't find a deal dealy enough to match buying it from them at whatever the long-time customer discount is if I do decide to purchase), but now I feel like I should go run out and buy it - from somewhere, anywhere, but NOW - just because.

I didn't get the soundtrack popup so I shot them a quick e-mail through Nintendo's Support page. An hour later (right now) I get an e-mail that my reward is being processed. I check my Club Nintendo account and lo, I indeed have a backordered copy of the soundtrack! Customer Service to the rescue!

So even if you don't get the popup, make sure you send them an e-mail! Apparently, it fixes everything!

After you call 1-800-255-3700, push 3 for 3DS and then 0 for representative. Should speed things up and get you in the phone queue real quick-like.

I clicked http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp and submitted a webform requesting help, under Club Nintendo -> Product Registration -> Survey (you could try Games too I hear).

I then called but I posted my lukewarm call results earlier. Then I just got this email response back.

There is no limited release for the game, this needs to be put in the OP in big bold letters or something. The CD is limited and the game might possibly be limited in Japan.

Great, I didn't get the screen, either. Guess I know what I'm doing when I wake up tomorrow...

    ...well, later today.
I called that support line until I got in (it's extremely busy), and I told the guy that I registered OoT 3D and didn't get the free soundtrack popup, and the guy said "Oh I see you registered the game, let me put you on hold for a minute."

Except I haven't given him any account information yet.

Then I was told that if I had registered the game I should automatically get the soundtrack. I had to point out the popup and necessary order completion steps that were missing.

    WTF

It took a bit of work to "convince" him that something is terribly wrong with the site, so he escalated it to admin and took down my cell number.

So in the end if you didn't get the soundtrack popup you're basically fucked. :?

Fortunately for me, when I had called, they had been dealing with this all morning, it would seem. They took down my details, given it's Sunday and the office is largely closed, and said they'd look into it.

Hope they sort everything out, so that those who registered early get priority. Or just print more discs, if need be, whatever.

Though it just occurred to me: I think I still have the original release of the soundtrack kicking around somewhere, unopened.
Do you think that it might be a browser thing? I'm running Chrome on Windows 7, and I don't think that I saw any popup-blocker notification.

They asked me which browser I used, and I said Firefox. I also wonder if this is one of those issues... anyone?

The person I spoke to did not give me a reference number, though, and he didn't know what the stock situation was.

[QUOTE=JerikTelorian;19597183For those of you getting a message about call volumes, just keep trying. You can't actually get a rep if you get the "High volume" message, but you might actually get through on subsequent calls. Just redial every few minutes and you'll hit it.[/QUOTE]

I did, actually. I was connected midway through telling me about the high call volume.

Seriously, they should print more if it becomes a problem. They did that with Super Mario All-Stars, so why not?
    Spoiler:
I also need to look up the Zelda II manual because the only mention I've seen of Gannon is at the game over screen... which kind makes me wonder why he's even there.

I don't want to discourage looking up the manual, given that was from an age when manuals were actually fun to read, but to answer your query:

While Link has his quest to find the third piece of the Triforce and awaken Princess Zelda (supposedly the original, but who knows at this point any more?), Ganon's minions are seeking to resurrect their fallen master. And to do that, they must "sacrifice Link and sprinkle his blood on the ashes of Ganon."

Wanted to drop in and ask about TP, which I have never played.

The Gamecube version is pretty uncommon and expensive here in the U.K, and with 2nd-hand Wii's going for like £60, I was vaguely tempted to get one for the hell of it.

Does the Wii version have mandatory motion control, or can it be played exactly as if it were the GC game?

I can somewhat understand having a limited CD release, but I don't understand why they wouldn't sell the soundtrack as a download. It's like they don't want people to listen to it.

Yeah, don't think it's a limited release, it's just selling really quickly (and Walmart just isn't shipping the game out to their stores until Monday because of an error). I had to run an errand to a Best Buy in a small city and they had 12 copies just in a display at the front, with more on the shelf. Target might have gotten their stock cut due to early selling shenanigans, too, who knows.

Also, I just got my confirmation e-mail from NOA and the CD appears in my Reward Order History, so thank you, friendly Nintendo Customer Service Rep. Being nice on the phone paid off I guess!

Also, on the topic of the game: Anyone who enjoys the 3D effect needs to have it on for the 3 Goddesses cutscene after you beat the Deku Tree. Most impressive 3D effect on the system yet by far. It looks fantastic.

  • Silent TristeroSilent Tristero Registered User
Oh, rats. That's somewhat discouraging, from what I've heard.

Maybe I'll give it a shot anyway, there's part of my brain practically screaming 'You can almost buy a whole new console for the price of TP on the Gamecube'.

  • RehabRehab Registered User regular
The Wii version should just be the UK equivalent of $20 for a new copy there however, if you guys also have the "Select Classics" line of Wii games.

    Also, nice avatar sir!
...I thought that was going to be a pack-in with the game?

I figure that it will be, but that there will be two skus as there was for Red Steel 2.

In other words, one bundled with a WiiMotion Plus controller and one that is just the game. Same deal here I figure.
