    Attention humans!

We're now down to 97 tickets left. That's under 100 tickets. Now is the time when I officially say:

If you haven't purchased your tickets, PLEASE do so now! The last 100 will go very quickly, now that interest in PAX is picking up.

I'm submitting the menu and final headcount (250) to Jillian's sometime next week, so get your menu votes in as soon as you can.

Raffle prizes are going to be purchased in the next week, also, to allow time for shipping to Seattle.

Shit is getting REAL, dawg. PAX is 3 weeks away!

Guys, I have really, really, really big news.

I just got done talking with Murphy Weller. You may know him from this band called The Protomen.

It turns out, they didn't have any plans on Sunday night.

Well, now they have plans. Yes, The Protomen are going to be playing the Post-PAX Party. I'm kind of in shock, because they might just be my favorite band ever, and I'm super-excited to push this party to the next level.

Now, though, there's the question of paying the band. I could raise the remaining ticket price by about $10 to pay them, but I feel like that's unfair to people who haven't bought their tickets yet (and super advantageous to those who have). I could solicit further donations. Or I could dip into the raffle fund. I'm asking for your opinions on this. What do you think I should do?

I'm temporarily suspending ticket sales while I figure out how to proceed. They won't be suspended for very long, probably only a day.

One thing is for sure, though. If I have to dip into my own pocket, I will make this happen. The Protomen will be playing P3.

Okay. Here's what I'm going to do.

I've raised ticket prices by $5.00. That won't break anyone's bank, and that will go a long way towards paying The Protomen for their show.

I've also added a Protomen Donation. If you scored a ticket to P3 before the ticket went up, I highly encourage you to donate. The Protomen are awesome and totally worth $5-$10 of your money.

Any extra money generated via Protomen donations will go directly into the raffle fund, which will be used to purchase FABULOUS PRIZES.

Hey Arco, your post just changed my mind on my tickets on the Fangamer Afterparty with the Protomen just because of this announcement. If my badge can potentially get me in a venue of 700 or so, and I get a guaranteed show on Sunday because of my P3 admission, I am changing my plans and just gonna take this money and throw $10 $15 your way to cover things. Thank you again for putting so much effort into this!

So I just nabbed 4 tickets for my group. I feel kind of bad though because I just don't have the room on my credit card to Donate at the moment. Any plans to allow to donations at the show itself?

Ehhh. Not any official plans. Buy some merch from the band - that's a donation in and of itself. And of course, you can donate via the website up to the day of the party.

I threw in 10 bucks into the "Proto-kitty" for 2 reasons. First, adding a private show to P3 is EPIC! Secondly (and for reasons unknown to me) I really enjoy the term "Proto-kitty"....

At first I thought I was getting more spam from the Arco Arena (I live somewhat close to Sacramento and bought tickets to an event there once).

Then I read it was this and was like "holy shit". And promptly donated $5 (sorry, best I can do, you caught me in a bad payperiod)

Never seen the Protomen but I've heard great things. Glad to have the opportunity. I'd like to donate more but a bit tight on cash right now. I did toss $15 into the raffle donation when I purchased my tickets a few weeks ago, and I'd be fine with any/all of that being transferred over into the Protomen fund. I will toss some dollars in the Protomen fund at a later date if my budget allows.

    Great work Arco!

$5 extra bucks for the Protomen is so worth it! So how does this appetizer buffet work?

  • ArcoArco Registered User regular
More awesome news! Our good friend Jonny Nero (Action Hero!) has agreed to play our party, too! Now we have two musical guests. This is fucking awesome.

    Appetizer buffet:

There's a poll up for voting. As soon as the voting is done (in a week or so) I'll send the choices over to Jillian's. We can have however many things we can combine for $15. I'll make sure there's a vegetarian option in there, too. The appetizer buffet lasts 3 hours, from 8-11. It will be refilled however many times it needs to be.

There's only about 50 tickets left, so if you were on the fence, I suggest you buy now. I wouldn't be surprised if there were no tickets left on Monday. We sold 50 in one day yesterday.
