Interesting question, as Arkane was one of the few Source Engine supporters (they used it for Dark Messiah and were going to use it for The Crossing) but now that they're owned by Zenimax (who essentially bought id for the sole purpose of having idtech for the companies new internal engine.) one would think they would go with idtech.
God, I still can't believe id software got purchased. No matter how many times I hear it, I still have trouble processing it as an established fact.
Yeah, I have to agree
Something about the water

I never asked for this!
You mean how the water looks kind of like rippled glass? Yeah, I can see what you're talking about.
And I like the art direction in that screenshot, it's nice.
So.
That's a thing.

That's hot

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Where is the pre-order button?
How hard can you kick?
But seriously, dominance of kicking aside, Dark Messiah's first-person melee combat was just downright wonderful. It was one of the few games where I'd replay fights just to get to try something different out.
Although if I recall its last thread was basically all about how Tube and the rest of us hated spider fights
I didn't realise it had true dynamic lighting though. I thought source just had stencil lighting, which in some way isn't truly dynamic.
A good thing: Source games are always so crisp looking and smooth.
Can I devour clusters of mooks then?
Also, just checked out the GI cover story. It looks pretty good guys.

Yesssssss. Just what this taffer wants to hear.
All the powers sound cool, too.
But, every time I play one of these games it usually results in me sitting in a corner for 50 minutes watching the guards move around. Then when I finally decide to move, I'm thinking to myself 'hey! I can just jump here, get on that, then crawl across that plank, drop down the other side, and I don't even have to bother with the guards! '. So I go ahead and try out that plan only to get cockblock by an invisible wall. So basically the game is forcing me to go against my better judgement and sneak past 40 heavily armed guards, instead of going through that awesome backdoor with 0 guards. Fuck you game.
Game of the Year
Metro 2033 was the last FPS game that had good stealth that I've played. It the was the right compromise between realism and fun gameplay for me. I know I might be the outlier on that feeling. If they would only try the sneak suit...
I want this game. Holy fucking god I want this game.
