yeah I find the only-one-energy-cell regen mechanic a bit dumb. I end up just bumming around with my one free recharging cell, doing a stealth takedown then recharging while I hide the body, doing another then hiding the body, etc.
unless you're wanting to be invisible forever it seems like getting the recharge time upgrades is a way better idea than getting additional capacity. I plan to get cloak and only use it in very short bursts, to move from cover to cover for example.
I like the the silent movement upgrades only drain energy when they are actually suppressing sound, IE when you are moving, and your energy recharges while they are active if you don't move for long enough.
I got my copy through Gamestop's digital download service. The game pre-loaded with their Impulse program that I had to download, but when I ran it for the first time, it launched Steam. I put the CD key in Steam and it added it to my library without having to install again.
Some of the in-game preorder bonuses were available immediately without input from me. Although, I still don't know where the grenade launcher is or how to access the artbook and soundtrack.
I've been stashing weapons and things I don't want to clog up my inventory but I don't want to just sell either in my office in Sarif's HQ. There's currently a sniper rifle, assault rifle and a freaking rocket launcher leaning on my desk.
Overall i find stealth more fun in this game but that might just be because i havent improved weapon skills. I couldnt hit a damn thing with the tranq gun, and just ended up doing a bunch of non-lethal takedowns which i find fun setting up...probably will get less fun later as the difficulty increases.
BTW...to people who have gotten kinda far. Are the augments available to you from the beginning the only augments you will ever have to choose from or do some get added?
Has anyone gone through the explosive something extra mission that came with the gamestop preorder? Aren't some of the original deus ex characters supposed to make an appearance in that?

Yeah, I plan on grabbing that recharge aug next, I think. I rely on those stealth takedowns. Hmm, probably should grab the reflex booster, too.

My impression of the stun gun is that the only advantage it has over takedowns is that it doesn't consume energy.
also dont think i fired the tranq gun more than seven or eight times on the first mission
just sneaking around folks then whoops someone saw me time to sit thru a fifteen second quick load
and then proceeded to not use it

like a stupid anime figurine that doesnt doesnt do anything
Can you even non-lethal that boss? like, just PEPS and tranq him or stun him?

is it because he sounds like keanu reeves otherwise
he's got this silly gravel voice
Jensen's doesn't even come close
honestly, I think it's a better voice than Denton's

as much as I like the resonance of gravelly voices

if you don't, his voice just gets harsher and harsher
just half-way through a fight, he starts coughing and clearing his throat, and you have to hit the action button to make him take a cough-drop
which dries out his victim's skin and causes him to crumble apart

Yeah
Jensen IS Timothy Olyphant.
It works pretty well actually. especially when he does a takedown.
Gamestop have admitted to throwing those codes away on purpose.
So if you bought a copy for the PC from GS and didn't get an Onlive code then that's why
