All with the same speed; only the damage increases. I presume they are going with having fewer base item types and more upgradability; this said, the item IDs are not continuous and the beta MPQ may just be missing some.
That last column I generated; it's just the average damage. The steady increase somewhat suggests that they're all the same item type, but of course the Bastard Sword has oddly one more socket than the others for some inexplicable reason... I assume that's just a bug. The lists of axes, etc. don't appear to have such oddities, from casual inspection.
the Sword_1H_107, Sword_1H_108, Sword_1H_207, and Sword_1h_208 items are missing from the latter, and Ancient/Conquest swords are 107/207, and -08 swords all have 3 sockets...
But now I'm wondering why the apparent inconsistency. Hm.

The practicality of this (i.e., runing and skilling toward fast travel) compared to straightforwardly building toward monster chopping depends on too many factors that are unknown at this point.

Day9 has apparently gotten a key for the closed beta, which is why he's not streaming today.
Some probably-one-handed swords:
All with the same speed; only the damage increases. I presume they are going with having fewer base item types and more upgradability; this said, the item IDs are not continuous and the beta MPQ may just be missing some.
That last column I generated; it's just the average damage. The steady increase somewhat suggests that they're all the same item type, but of course the Bastard Sword has oddly one more socket than the others for some inexplicable reason... I assume that's just a bug. The lists of axes, etc. don't appear to have such oddities, from casual inspection.

There's no physical immune and runes/skill system make it pretty hard to only have caster dealing one type of elemental damage.
They disappeared in Diablo 2, for the record. They would obviously disappear as you leave the area, but sometimes you just had to walk off-screen and return to see some of the bodies being gone already.
There's at least one other forumer who got in yesterday.

That's a little different from the new system of disappearing while you're looking at them. I just hope there's an option to turn on persistent corpses. In my perfect world:
Option 1: Corpses disappear almost immediately
Option 2: Corpses disappear after 20 seconds
Option 3: Corpses disappear when off-screen
I'd also make champion/unique/boss corpses persist forever just so you can revel in the carnage.

Fixed an issue with Dashing Strike where casting it would sometimes cause the character to become stuck performing the ability repeatedly, at no resource cost.
