I've played around with cass in a couple of bot matches just to try and figure out her powers. Noxious blast seems very finicky to aim and pretty useless.
her Q has a 0.9 ability power ratio on a 3 second cooldown (area of effect), and it's the skill that gives her potentially the most damage in the game
W is eh
E is 0.55 ap ratio and 250 base power or so at rank 5, which for a spammable spell is quite strong
R is a ton of damage but it's best used defensively and then it turns out defense was the best offense because you can MELT people in a two second stun if you're cassiopeia
e: basically she SHITS damage and is super good at laning because one Q is a quarter of someone's health or more, and since she farms super well she gets really good items and does more damage and she's really fun and good
yeah, just wait until the other person is telegraphing that they're going to stand still for the quarter second it takes to last hit a minion, and peg'em with it
Urgot crushes her. Any tanky DPS with an Oracles crushes her. Anybody with a targetable AoE and is smart enough to buy some MR to itemize against her lane counters her.
You should be FAR more afraid of Morgodna.
Edit: Also that not auto-attacking after her ult was a bug fix.
i love laning against tanky dps as her, it's not even fair how much more damage + sustain she has pre-six and then post six it's just hilarious
*anecodtal evidence* my last akali game I was against irelia and it was no contest whatsoever. *end anecdotal evidence*
haven't played against urgot as her, that might be tough! Considering I start with boots + health pots on akali i bet it would go okay though
no one buys MR in laning. if they do, okay, you now take a little less damage from akali but you deal even less to her and she has spell vamp..
but yeah morgana is also very good, I think the two of them are the best two characters in the game right now!

Stick a tanky DPS or a Morgana against her. Bust an early Oracles and get some MR and you have effectively shut down Akali throughout the entire game.
Dunno why people are having trouble with her now. She hasn't gotten ANY stronger.
they nerfed almost everyone that beat her in lane (it's pretty much just garen now) and made her ult automatically make her autoattack her target
