    Would you say that Ventrilo has been more barrener with not as many mods around?

    Hooray. Another day, another trio of spammers with no mod on to ban them. It's gettin to be a daily thing now, which is just excellent.

    Can we please get a channel back where we can ban people and game on in peace? Deleting the old one didn't solve a thing.

    Aren't there logs for the server?

    Couldn't you just get the person's user name and a general time that person was on, then send that info to a mod who could then look at the logs and ban the dude?

    This will tweak ventrilo to balance out the quiet people and the loud people. Enjoy!

    In vent, press setup. In the first tab, make sure 'Use DirectSound' is checked. Press the SFX button. Select 'Compressor' in the right box, then press the '<- Add' button. Select 'Compressor in the left box and press the 'Properties' button.

    Set the knobs to:
    Gain -7 (make this higher if people are too quiet)
    Attack .01
    Release 500ish
    Threshold -31
    Ratio 100.0
    Pre Delay 4.0

    Guys, check out this sweet site I found! It's called "newgrounds"!!! It has all of these awesome funny soundboards that I can let you all hear LOL ROTFL! Though it's better than the impossibly loud static, soundboards = teh lose.

    Yeah this new wave of soundboard spammers is pretty interesting. It's even better because most of them don't know how to play it directly from their computer, so you can hear their horrible breathing as they point their microphone to their speakers.

    You do not own Vent. Just because you're the loudest most annoying fucker there doesn't mean you get to make the rules. If you would gain some maturity and evolve past grade school social mentality we wouldn't be having any problems.

    It was pretty much exactly two years ago that the Ventrilo thread got shut the fuck down because people decided to go flame-happy on each other here. I'm pretty sure most of you were around for that, and you probably remember how it was not exactly a lot of fun.

    So, maybe we can think long and hard before we get middle school on each other in this thread?



    I know I haven't spent much time on the server lately--I've had a ton of shit going in the real world. Maybe some of you regulars can hit me with a PM and let me know if there's seriously anything that needs addressing from the top down? Otherwise: behave, children.

    We're currently playing on the dota-allstars ventrilo server. Probably one of the worst servers I've ever been on. Random people piping the vent griefer videos. What the hell is that; do it right if you want to troll us. Also, a big tip of the hat to Volluspa for that sound normalizer! I don't hear griefers at obscene volumes now.
