Olaf is a fucking blast to play. I love brawly melee characters that can just run up to people and spam the shit out of abilities until either everything dies or they get cut down by all of the dudes. The effect is strengthened considerably if you're listening to Manowar.

Oh, I know there are some bad ones. But when you compare it to you know... 3/4ths of the splash arts being shit on the American side, I'll gladly take the ~12 bad Chinese ones across all the champions and skins.

Yeah, Ryze/Cho works because Ryze's cage lets Cho land free knockups. Or if the enemy is really outranging Ryze, if Cho ever lands his he can move in. They're both a little farm dependent, though.

The problem is that Atmogs right-click-to-win tanky AD bores me to death, as do the extremely ultimate-dependent tanks that make up most of the other junglers (like Amumu and Malphite), I'm a terrible carry, and solo mid and top are usually instalocked in pubs anyway. I've always been the type who picks late and tries to choose someone who would help balance the team, but there's no variety in that anymore. If we don't have a jungler, I pretty much have to pick a jungle tank (and I would rather burn down an orphanage than play one more game as jungle Rammus; when jungling first became mainstream I was stuck doing that in 90% of games for weeks on end and I could not possibly be any sicker of it). If we DO have a jungler, I almost always have to play a laning tank (which given my current roster basically means "Maokai"). It's not even that I dislike being the initiator/disruptor, but I like variety and there just aren't enough fun tanks to keep me from getting bored. Maybe I'll get to grab an AP mid in one out of five games or so, but that's about it. Discovering that jungle Cho'gath is viable is the only thing that has kept me from going completely insane just ticking down my 10-win IP boost (it gives less for Dominion games for some reason), but I always do badly if the team doesn't already have some decent CC for me to follow up on, so that's a band-aid at best.
It makes me pine for the olden days when jungling was a gimmick strategy, tanky DPS didn't exist, and good lanes were defined by their ability to murder the other guys rather than their ability to adhere to the scheme that optimizes income.
