I'll put this here for posterity/it's where edits actually belong. It lacks context, but the short of it is that people are being jerky enough about today's guest strip over in the Penny Arcade Hub thread that I felt compelled to edit something to commemorate the awfulness.
Also, the girl's first line is lifted from a warning post by Tube. Which means I'm indirectly calling him an 8-year-old girl. *hides*
So is Photoshop Elements something that one could use to make edits (vs. the vastly more expensive Photoshop CS5 I guess)? It's very hard from product descriptions to tell whether it can do actual image editing or if it's just for removing red eye and brightening photos.

I use Gimp for edits. It's free and does the job well.
My wife has an older version of elements (got it free with her tablet about 2 years ago), and I wasn't really impressed with it. It was kind of a pain to do even some basic stuff. I can't speak to what they may have added / improved in later versions though.

I recommend Paint.NET if all you need is a comic editor that's easy to learn.
Use GIMP if you're a masochistic nerd who loves documentation written by Linux users. (I use GIMP.)
Use your Photoshop Elements disk as a coaster for your beverages.

What I remember of Elements from years ago is that it does have editing features, but it doesn't recognize stuff like CMYK. If you want to use Photoshop, try to find an older -therefore cheaper- version. PS hasn't changed much lately. And the new stuff it does have are often functions it had before, but took some more individual actions to accomplish. At home I use PS 8. It's about 10 years old and incredibly fast. I'd only buy CS 5 or 5.5 because stuff like indesign keeps improving in a significant manner.

edit: ok, now it's just kinky weird instead of creepy. the "non-consensual" part really didn't sit well with me in the context of the rest of the edit.

Oh, I was there, all right. But there are many levels which could be "that level".
The tunnel racing level, the snake climbing level, the spiky swimming level...
edit: Oh, right, didn't notice that the text was changed. Swarm of rats, hmm... I don't recall. It's been many years.
Love this one, Sticks!
