Found it. It was called "The Beast", and built by one John Dodd. It was a 750bhp 27 litre Rolls-Royce Merlin engine in a custom chassis and body.
He was apparently sued by Rolls-Royce over his use of one of their grilles on the body.
That's silly of them.
I believe it was (and this may be apocryphal) his tendency to take it on the Autobahn and blow away the supercars of the day with the thing's 200+ mph top speed, leading to the German Police complaining to Rolls-Royce themselves about "testing their new cars on the Autobahn." Speeds above 200mph being considered anti-social.
It's not that impressive, just amusing. Plus, I can't be sure one of my students isn't reading the forums (they are 150 computer nerds, after all), so I won't be posting it here. At least, not before the exam.
I was amazed at how fast people took that seriously.
I'm trying, through my blog, to break into the journalism industry. Any eyes and ears that pick up on any leads towards that end are greatly appreciated. PM me if you happen to hear anything.

No, I think you're all a bunch of computer nerds. And I think my class if full of computer nerds. So I won't be sharing my exam questions here before the exam. Too risky that my students will see them.

Don't do it Richy.
I have it on good authority that LaOs is one of the students in your class.
That girl who keeps flirting with you, to be specific.

The real world tends to have that effect. Personally, I've learned to tune out sanity to make my daily life easier.
There should be laws about people making me have potentially life-changing conversations over the phone at 2am when I am so tired that I am partly hallucinating.
"Do you want me to quit my job, move in with you, and something something about marriage?" is for -after- coffee.
Especially when the total romantic relationship was a two month span two and a half years ago.

So does SE++ like to switch thread topics around for shits and giggles?
The other day I found a techno thread in SE++ and i was all "oh cool nobody in D&D likes techno I think I'll go post in that." I go back today and they're talking about the fucking iPhone. Somebody (or a database burp) changed the iPhone thread name to techno. So then I do a vanity search to see if I can find the techno thread, and it's been renamed "iPhone".
So is this a technical glitch or just SE++ fucking around?
I am comforted by Richard Dawkins’ theory of memes. Those are mental units: thoughts, ideas, gestures, notions, songs, beliefs, rhymes, ideals, teachings, sayings, phrases, clichés that move from mind to mind as genes move from body to body. After a lifetime of writing, teaching, broadcasting and telling too many jokes, I will leave behind more memes than many. They will all also eventually die, but so it goes. - Roger Ebert, I Do Not Fear Death

I'm pretty sure that's just what SE++ does.
You sure?
Because that's some lame shit right there. I want to be accepting towards those guys but if they think it's funny to pull the forum equivalent of putting salt in the sugar bowl then fuck them.

Somebody was having fun changing names; not standard.
Meh.

With diamonds
I wrote a First-Order Logic exam question based on the Monty Python bit about scientifically proving someone is a witch.
I am pleased.
:^:
Maddie: "I am not!"
Riley: "You're a marsupial!"
Maddie: "I am a placental mammal!"
Post it, mortal.
I love it. Absolutely love it!
PM? Please?
Fine! Tell us after the exam.
Someone remind me if I forget.
Damn. I will edit. And... damn.

The Cat posted in the last one. One at a time.
Traitor!
Who's your team then, anyway?

I don't really care about professional sports, frankly.
And I'm off to the gym. Later, folks!
