It's not people buying guns that are the problem it's people buying ammo, that shit's gotten expensive! Two wars plus whackos, how's a guy supposed to afford his target plinking habit...
the big dig is awesome. i can't imagine trying to get through boston without it.
that said, i'm glad that i moved here after it was completed and didn't have to pay for it.
(not counting animes)
kingdoms of amalur
the darkness ii
rage
metro 2033
??
It sounds like the planned expansion of Chicago's subway/El system. In it's current state, it's a spoke-and-wheel system, minus the wheel. Everything emanates from a central hub, but none of the spokes are connected. A line that was meant to connect all the spokes has been planned for 2 decades or something, but they can never find the funding, or complain that it would mean relocating too many people. In the meantime, if you want to go from the north side of Chicago out to O'Hare airport, you have to go all the way down into the city and then all the way back out, a 2.5 hour train trip that takes 45 minutes in a car.
oh hey you're back
sup brosef
also i actually saw an animes that wasn't like...bad
rust influenced me, and it was...good. like, really good
Amalur or the darkness
they've been trying to get a "purple line" around DC's beltway for more years than I've been alive I think.
i think our nation has lost the collective will and ability to do anything like a large-scale civic project. literally the last major civil engineering feat i can think of in the US was boston's big dig.
i mean it was way over budget and compromised and poorly-managed but at least it actually got built. i can't thing of anything else that can compare in the US
Rage is basically a tech demo for the id5 engine or whatever it is. The plot goes nowhere, the game takes maybe 4 hours. I haven't played the first two. Metro 2033 was very fun, if tedious in spots.
i knew you were gonna sell out
i knew it
Boardwalk Empire
(and of course the animes)
but my stomach is still a-rumbling
and im comfy here
makin' me mad
Yep, lately any time anyone tries to do something that would actually benefit the transportation system it gets bogged down in courts and funding. This country should be the goddamn king of high speed rail. Instead you pay more for an Amtrak ticket than a plane ticket. Obama tries to push high speed rail in the southwest and people act like he wants to burn down the auto industry.
hmmm, yeah, I dunno if it's better than The Wire
okay, I meant more specifically 410-413 is the best run of episodes of a tv show I've ever seen
I heard that show is a clearly trying too hard for Emmys sort of show, and it really negatively effects its quality
just like oscarbait films, but for tv
Otaku Gaijin maybe
So which anime were you watching?
oh shit
i found it to be masterful. plus in season 2 the story mirrors a greek tragedy with some surprising subtly.
but hey. maybe i fell for it.
whatchu been drinking lately
black lagoon
i've been on a "nothing but manhattans" kick for a while now.
i guess i've kind of settled into a groove. manhattans are just the perfect winter cocktail.
he didn't mention the serbian child soldier thing yet?
went from a three minute walk to a 20 minute drive.
that was masterful
renttastic: will owned me
so hard
I have been owned
i am in the own zone
it should be renamed the will zone
rust: hot damn
will was walking on his way to a sensible tie-and-jacket lunch and just stone capped you in the head without breaking stride
Black:Lagoon is pretty crude stuff, all guns and shootings and swearings and shit.
one of the few animes i've watched in recent years. it was great.
