but really the problem is you don't like Bendis, that is cool. I don't like some writers other people do! I think Morrison is pretty incomprehensible and bad half the time!

but instead of saying "Hey I don't like Bendis" you are saying "HE IS THE WORST WRITER AND GARBAGE" which is just being a goose

Ultimate Enemy was not shit. I enjoyed it a lot.

and I can understand if you thought his Daredevil was too dark and stuff

But it is Daredevil. Generally speaking, Daredevil is pretty dark. And that's fine! I love Waid's DD but that doesn't mean I don't love Bendis' and Brubaker's.

Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite comic

    Dark Avengers was kinda cool

Which is all I've read of Bendis
    So IMO he's great

    bendis is legitimately bad

he has issues with his writing

    multiple, even

if it were up to me he'd be chained to a desk and only allowed to write USM

It is like getting mad at Mark Waid for writing Daredevil happy and care free. Sometimes characters should have a new direction tried out.

Except there are reasons why Waid writes Daredevil like that. Reasons that are mentioned and explained in the story.

99% of the time when Bendis changes someone's personality he doesn't explain shit and it's obvious that he just couldn't be fucking bothered to check what anyone else had been doing with that character somewhere else. And a lot of the time when Bendis does this the character in question is still active in some other book and Bendis straight-up ignores what's going on there because he only cares about the way he writes characters.

It's not malicious. Bendis doesn't actively go around writing characters differently just so other people's work will be ignored. He's just oblivious.

Also, everyone he writes in most books has the exact same personality. Not everyone is in the same mood, but it's the same god damned personality and it is so fucking wretched and tiresome.

Bendis is fucking awful most of the time. Not always, but the vast majority of the time? Yes. Bendis is just

    absolutely terrible.

    He is a language criminal.

A ten year run with not one bad comic it, not even one comic that is worse than "good"

    And it's an exception?

And his Daredevil run is good. I am not even going to piss about with "my opinion" on this

He wrote Daredevil for something like 60 issues and it was a great run

I told her it is fine if she doesn't like Bendis. I explicitly said that!
but really the problem is you don't like Bendis, that is cool.

people have different opinions! The problem is when people decide their opinion is the only valid one, which is what Anti and Spex are doing.

I like a lot of writers. Hickman is my current favorite, but Bendis, Morrison, Kirkman, Pax, and Johns are my current favorites. They all have flaws, but they also can all tell one hell of a story.

Pretty much the only modern comic that has been quality since its first issue. At least the only one that has lasted 100+ issues.

I've actually never read Ultimate Spider-Man!

The Ultimates was the only Ultimate thing I read, and that stopped after Ultimates 2

it's not due to some strong reason as to why, I've just never tried

I have pretty harshly been called a casual or very mild comic book fan

I buy very few comics (in the past few years, none at all!) and I read very little

Fraction wrote a great Punisher: War Journal run as well as his creator owned Casanova series. Defenders is also really good and co-stars Iron Fist!

Brubaker wrote a 50+ issue run on Cap that was pretty goddamn great and managed to follow up Bendis' Daredevil run with comparable quality.
