"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
it's super expensive but it also meets 100% of all demonstrated need.
so like, i go in poor as fuck, and regardless of whether i have scholarships they might have me do workstudy and take out the limit for federal loans (like, 10,500 for an independent sophomore?)
but everything else would be a grant
MAYBE
also when I was a student there
our student council president got ousted for starring in a porno
and the bar across the street where we went day drinking between classes was the top seller of corona in the US
Cute? Sweet? Sounds like girl stuff.
*goes back to playing with GI JOEs*
I mean, even aside from the ololcondom angle, they chose as their mascot the losers of probably the most famous mythical war ever.
Their mascot is the losing army.
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
dem shits cute
scissor me xerces
i can only afford to do either: in state schools (temple, MAYBE penn state)... or very selective schools that meet full need
so i def' couldn't do ucla or arizona or w-e
8,500 subsidized and another 12k unsubsidized. After that I don't know. But I enter what is called grad plus which is up to the cost of schooling(including housing, books, transportation, health insurance and so on).
Nothing beats the Greek Air Force for bad mascots...
Theirs is Icarus. Seriously.
I have to agree with that part. I don't understand why anyone would want to emulate the Trojans. Famous for losing a siege war at a time when siege wars were almost a sure thing for the defender barring natural disasters or divine intervention.
are you spurning me
Rice University's mascot is an owl. Owls are wise.
i'm like an asian michael schumacher
that's only for grad school. undergrads (who are independent) it's like 9,500 for freshmen, 10,500 for soph, 12,500 for junior and senior (i think)
so if i get into usc as a sophomore i'd accrue like 35,500 in debt
which i am very much satisfied with
anything over 50 and i'd be shittin mah pants
ASU is a party school. I went there to visit a buddy once, and the place was overrun with hot girls.
Chu, you should go to ASU.
I'm not saying go to UCLA, Chu.
I'm saying don't go to USC.
Not just because USC sucks, but it would be super fucking lame if you moved to LA when I am no longer living there.
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
I mean aside from the ending
icarus p badass
Sorry, I answered it earlier, guess you missed it though @Organichu
I've been told it is, and I quote, 'ghetto'
I haven't spent any time there really myself.
I really have to wonder who came up with it in the first place. And what they were thinking/
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
rice is another excellent school that meets full need
but they are even more selective than usc
USC/UCLA rivalry is typical dumb meaningless crap.
this was my HS mascot
no one was like
OH SHIT THEY ARE WISE
UC Santa Cruz.
Adorable!
fuck VH
He refused to follow orders, crashed into the sea, and died.
This is your hero when you fly a plane?
shut up
pile up your debt be an american
nah, the series of wars that the myth of the Trojan war was super-loosely based on was part of the general catastrophe around 1200 BCE where most of the fortified cities of the eastern mediterranean were all sacked and the Bronze Age burned over a very short period of time.
Pretty much every major site in what is now Greece, Crete, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebannon (among others) all were destroyed. And Egypt itself only escaped destruction within its borders by fighting a series of massive massive wars on its borders (the proto-Assyrians were the same).
you picky muh fucker
how many flying machines you made
Everyone I know who graduated from Rice is rich. And over 40 ... might have something to do with it.
temple is in a rough part of town but it's a good school
etc
it's p mid tier
it has p good LA departments i guess especially for a state subsidized school
but it's kinda ass for anything tech/engineer/science
oh you fancy huh
you fuckin picky nowadays
great engineering programs
You can get around in LA without a car if you're living near USC. It does have a decent subway system (for an American city), and there are a lot of busses that run from USC to subway points..
It will get awkward, though, at times. It's just not a town built around the idea of public transit. There will be times when there's a place you want (or need) to go, and the closest bus line will be a 20m walk followed by a 60m bus ride. Or you'll be looking at apartments, and there will be an apartment that looks convenient on a map, but you'll discover when you go to check it out that it's a 30m longer trip to and from classes than you expected.
Looking at a map just doesn't really do it justice.
