Everyone who has a team in the Pac-10 (now 12) hates USC.
Which includes ASU and UCLA.
And Cal, which is an infinitely better place that both of them. So nyah.

USC is a total ivory tower, Chu; it's for super-rich kids, but surrounded by super-poor people. Given that college is really more about who you know than what you learn, and that USC (like most California schools) has a good Comp Sci department, it would be a good choice, if you can afford it.
Also, as far as I'm aware, USC is in a really sketchy part of town. Probably not bad at all for the rough and tumble life of Organ I Chu, attorney at law, but for us mere mortals, it's a bit scary.
The campus is supposed to be very beautiful though.

Unfortunately you're competing against all the other desperately poor ragamuffins, Chu. I do hope you get in. I just am concerned you're getting your hopes up too early in the process. Those schools have a limited amount of full-need students that they take, and they like it that way because they get tons of applicants and can be excessively choosy about their candidates.
also I think we are still the biggest school in the country
Right, because it's in the middle of fucking Arizona; there's nothing anywhere near it, and they've decided to go with a low-quality, high-volume business plan, because they can't really compete with the secondary-education juggernaut right next door.
Berkeley is totally a waaaaayyy better school than USC.
It's also waaaaaaaayyyyy harder to get into.
And completely and utterly beyond Chu's reach because they don't want out of state students unless those students can pay. They have plenty of really poor, but bright and promising kids in state, and it's a state school.

At any decent school, the student council president would have gotten re-elected for starring in a porno.

Just as an example.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
I wouldn't advise going with anything less.

lehigh's a good school that often meets need
i dunno 'bout purdue's aid, i'd have to do some research
Which is super-frustrating when you meet Berkeley students and they can barely string three words together coherently.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
So far I have been the opposite.

This isn't really safe for work. But people need to know.
