Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

I say it now, if by some eldritch manner our laments manage to make Crusader Kings 2 on sale tomorrow, I will buy it for you.
Even the HL2 boxed copy that started it all was off ebay.
Best advice I ever received from the steam thread: Don't buy anything that isn't on sale.
I don't really care for the crashey stuff. It's nice, but it's completely unnecessary to me.
What I love about Burnout (even the ones in the series I don't like as much) is how fast it feels. No other racing game has ever quite captured the sense of speed that Burnout has, racing into oncoming traffic at absurd speeds, weaving between cars, then going sideways around a corner and staying sideways for hundreds of metres. Coming up to an intersection, there's traffic crossing in front of you and you just pick a gap and blast straight through.
No other game has ever given me an adrenaline rush like that time I did three full laps of Big Surf Shores, boosting the entire race. Boosting continuously means never crashing, never slowing down, and driving very dangerously. Paradise wasn't the game I wanted, but goddammit you go so fast I don't really care.
Any game can tell you you're driving fast by putting a speedo that says "80000000000 kph!" down the bottom, but Burnout makes you actually feel that speed.
Damn. Now i feel like playing Burnout Paradise, and i dont play a racing game in years!
Indeed. Everything on Steam goes on sale eventually, especially during the big seasonal sales.
Except Jade Empire, which goes on sale once and then never fucking goes on sale ever again! God damn you, Jade Empire.
And Prey, which goes on sale and then gets removed from Steam forever because apparently no more CD keys exist. Argh.
Jade Empire on the other hand I would like to get. Someday Jade, someday...
But seriously, I'm not running out of anything to play anytime soon.
8 dollars for: Booster Trooper, Dead Horde, Sol Survivor, Avencast, Runespell, Still Life 2, PAM and Greed Black Border.
All Steam redeemable, apparently.
Same with Sacred 2.
It does, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before EA shuts the severs down, if they haven't already.
the rumor is that their second bundle will have dustforce and snuggle truck
SWTOR: Allanna (Shadowlands) / TSW: Sara-Luna
Is this a joke, or did they really copy OMD name with no shame at their faces?
That's pretty much exactly right. A team of Spess Muhreens slaughter enemies, gaining unlocks and leveling up after the match is over. That's the short and simple of Exterminatus mode and it's a blast. You can choose what type of Spess Muhreen and all that too. Devastators, Tacticals, and so on. As you you play you unlock perks and weapons, giving you better chances to see the Exterminatus all the way through to the end.

Heres to hoping the next one is better and their charity is a valid one!
Edit:
Food for thought? http://www.backlogjourney.com/2012/03/face-kicking-follow-up.html
This summer, when all I'm doing is working and no class, I'm your man!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAH...Orkz.
I get the initial load screen for about 10 seconds and then it just crashes with the usual "has stopped working" error message.
Tried playing around with game configurations and verifying the game cache, no luck.
edit: Fixed it, had to set the .exe compatibility mode to XP (service pack 2)
edit2: only now I get a black screen that I have to control-alt-delete out of as soon as the intro cutscene ends
edit3: had to add "-multithread" to game launch options
The devs have apparently confirmed the bundle itself is legit, but yeah...I would advise proceeding with at least a little bit of caution. It seems to be a case of "decent bundle run by crappy people advertising a shady-looking service".
There's a long thing on it on the Steam forums (starts at the end of this page), and there's the original blog post that the people running the bundle threatened the blogger with lawsuits over (which has since been edited). Worth a read before pulling the trigger.
Now I wouldn't recommend doing business with any of these places on a regular basis, the fact the people running this indie bundle seem to be shilling for one of the shadier ones does not inspire confidence, and their response to someone calling attention to it is deplorable, but there is a touch of sensationalism in the blog post which I think could be toned down. (Didn't see it before he edited it so I don't know what was in the deleted last paragraph before.)
Really, though, with indie bundles proliferating like college football bowl games, it was only a matter of time before one came along being run by some unsavory types. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened already, to be frank.
As someone who recently played through The Oath in Felghana on PSP, I can tell you that the game is pretty good! I'm not sure how different the PC version will be from the PSP game, though.
Actually, I am watching gameplay videos of the PC version, and it looks almost exactly the same...and most importantly, it sounds exactly the same.
But your post was "People like something I don't? what's that about?" so, you know.
YS series sums ups the best of jrpgs: walk and hit. You won't need anything else...
I literally know nothing about the YS series, so I'm not being funny. Random battles are my biggest irritant when it comes to RPGs.
