Rules: Each participant will private message me their pick for the date Diablo 3 will be released(Eastern Standard Time), AS WELL AS their pick for what date Blizzard will ANNOUNCE the release date, as a tie breaker. Dates are on a first come first serve basis. Your entry can't have the same announce and release date as another participant. One or the other is allowed. The dates I have chosen are an exception since I can't win the prize. The release date is the actual day of release in case the date is pushed back from their initial announced release day. The announcement is for the day they announce the release date, even if that release date is not met. Contestants can change their picks up until the registration end date*. So hey, I remember reading something way back talking about how this game would handle the online thing by doing most everything client-side and just checking in with the servers occasionally to make sure everything was legit.
But I don't remember if that was official or just hopeful speculation by some guy.
Basically, I'm trying to find out if I should even bother pre-ordering it and downloading it out here in Afghanistan, because if it works like any other online-only game it won't be worth it.

So I got my new graphics card and PSU today and D3 runs pretty awesomely. Now I can play the beta without being annoyed at tiny window mode + lowest settings.
I've missed like every single patch, so it'll be like a brand new game!
After some rumination, yeah, I'ma keep my CE preorder. I mean by then my kid will be born, so I probably won't be able to unlock and play immediately at midnight anyway.

i stopped this download and now it won't recognize that i finished like 7 gb of it and it's starting over
