I have to be the worse person at keeping up with this post. I posted back in May 2011 of my interest to join all of you but a lot of stuff got in the way (I got a brand new job while at PAX East) but I am back here and I had started a new plan. After reading everyone's progress it been very encouraging so I wanted to share what I have been up to.
My start weight was 208 as of 2/6/12. I am 5ft 6in tall. I wanted to do a 60 day plan to get me to the first day of PAX. I got a buddy at work to join me to lose weight and and eat healthier.
The plan was to loose fat, increase cardio endurance, and increase some upper body strength.
I started to use an app called LoseIt to watch my calorie intake. I started a modified/reduced Insanity regime for the first month. I also took up Dance Central 2 to supplement it.
As of 3/29/12 I am 197 pounds!!!!!
I am really thankful for everyone in here for their great posts and encouraging thoughts. Side note today (3/30) is my year anniversary for the job.
Also for OP, don't include me on the standings I barely keep up with the posts.
So after the insanely-snackalicious break from being good last weekend, I'm finally back to the gym routine. Can't wait to see how the final weigh-in before PAX goes Will just have to kick out some Pre-PAX campers so I can get my accurate weight, thus minus the PJs :P
Hey everyone, I've been I think entirely silent on this thread which is not a good thing. I am in on the Fitocracy challenge because of seeing this thread as a lurker. I can't wait for PAX! I'll be kicking it off in a less-than-healthy way at the Pokemon Bar Crawl.
It looks like some of you have made great progress losing weight and getting in shape. I'm fortunate that I'm not in the "lose weight" camp, but I certainly derive motivation from this thread. And I'm definitely stealing healthy snack ideas. Last year the con food really weighed me down and made me feel craptastic. I was looking at it like a forgone conclusion that I'd have to eat garbage again, thanks for pointing out the obvious that it isn't true!
I know this thread has been around for some time. I will be attending PAX but have not spent any time lurking the forums. I actually love the idea of Fitocracy, and the general 'fitness and gaming' mindset. I wanted to share a site I am working on. So, two floor hockey games tonight (finals!). Lost the first, won the second. I scored a goal in both games and added an assist in the second one. I don't know if I attribute that to weight loss or getting my shit together on the floor. Haha. Either way, it is becoming easier to play for sure.

I think some DDR is on my plate for tomorrow. Since my weigh in last Thursday, I have played ice hockey twice (in one friggin day), play open floor hockey, had two playoff games tonight, and another one on Wednesday. I don't remember, if ever, playing hockey 6 times in less than a week. Add some DDR and maybe I lose a little extra this week.
I should be at the meet up. There is a Mario Kart tourney starting at 1:30, but there is also a second group later. I don't know how that is working. Maybe I could sign up for the later one to not conflict with the meet up at 1. Or I can just play the MK7 tourney. Anyway....
We should get a group picture. Then we can post it here (if everyone is ok with that) and then when PAX East 2013 comes, we could take another one and compare! Or can just be our annual thing to do.

I can't believe I've lost almost 50 lbs in 10 months (what with all the running around, wouldn't be surprised if I drop these last 3 during PAX and make my mini-goal). I'm basically down to where I was 9 years ago and it astonishes me. My nutritionist was joking that she'd be out of a client pretty soon - until I told her about the pokecrawl.
I'm definitely going to show for the meetup. I'm typically the shy type so I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all - especially @BaconSandwich for starting the thread - because every little bit of this helped, and I'm looking forward to keeping it up through the next year!

I know the contest is over, but wanted to complete my entry - been resisting the "0.5" increment, but I've been under 219 for the last few weigh-ins I've done, and figured I'd give myself the .5 this time.
Since January, I've gone from 250 to 218.5 - I gave myself an aggressive goal of 220 by PAX in January, and hit it.. can't say I expected that.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Friday. Thanks for all the support and motivation!

The main problem was not knowing what a lot of people looked like. Thankfully Bacon had his helmet on and vttym looks quite similiar to his avatar.

Next year we need a fitness twitter account to let everyone know where to meet (and could be used to help with a potential dinner/lunch/whatever). Forum run next year? It could happen! Or maybe some other cool activity we could do.
