I'm sure we're all familiar with Christian the Lion.
Does anybody know of a similar story, except the human (female?) and the lion were reunited at a zoo? A coworker was telling me today he was watching something like that, and after being scared he was watching a snuff film, found it very touching.
My youtube-fu has failed me in finding such a clip. Anybody here familiar with it?
We had Mori's parents today and we were keeping both bedroom doors shut, as all the sheets etc. are newly washed and clean
Well just because two relative strangers were in the apartment, she cried and cried and presented herself as the most pathetic, bullied cat ever until we opened a bedroom door for her to go and hide in the closet
Geez, apparently even being in the same room as them was too much for the poor soul
It's amazing how two sisters who were both rescued at the same time, have had exactly the same upbringing and who have never been apart have such polar opposite personalities
Also, usually Sugar is just content to hang out under the table or on top of her cat tree when strangers are over, but no, today that was not enough

my brother and sister-in-law have had a cat for years that has only recently warmed up to me! she always hides when strangers are around.
So that wild animal park I went to three years ago, where I got to do this?
Took my new boyfriend there today. Unfortunately, because there were more people than last time, no one got to bottle feed any cubs.
BUT
They did bring out two new black leopard cubs for people to pet on the railing (they were hilariously uncooperative, rolling around the ground on their leads, wanting to play)
THEN they had two lion cubs, and the first group in was a family with some young kids who were instantly terrified the minute they went in. So me and Paul go in, and it's awesome all around. They were so damn cute!
The caretaker had to put back the sister, because she gets too excited around kids, and she literally picked up the cub and that cat just draped over her shoulder like a huge kitten.
And then we walked around, and admired the black bears for how fuzzy and plump they were and how chill it would be to lay on one. You know, minus the mauling. Repeat ad nasuem for every big cat too.

That reminds me. When I was in ... third grade? ... a young black bear wandered into the entryway to the library at my school (which is especially weird because it was in the middle of the campus between three buildings). I didn't get to see it, but my brother did.
There are so many wild animals in Oregon that I've only seen under less-than-ideal circumstances, or in captivity. It's frustrating!
I've seen a black bear from way way off, when I was driving home. I only know it was a bear because I saw a black lump against the asphalt, with two blue eyes staring back ... and then they rose up 4 feet and shuffled off. And then another was caught in a trap next to the resort/raft rental I worked at. He was pissed.
Never seen a wild cougar. Missed a bobcat by this much (went inside, dad saw it through binoculars while bird watching)
Only just today saw my first wild elk. A herd of cows along the coast.
What else what else ... I guess that's it? I have seen a few wild bald eagles, so there's that. And a beaver at Sunset Bay state park. No porcupines though, there used to be a few in the area.

Other that that, I see vultures regularly, which is cool. Once we were driving along the road and saw what we thought was a wild turkey (also plenty of those!) until it flew off... vulture!

I bought him a new feather to play with today and the following happened:

This is still going on, by the way. He's just walking around and growling.

At this point he tired himself out and is just laying around, dozing off. But still not letting the feathers out of his sight.

Just so long as you don't wake up with "Now I have a machine gun. HO HO HO" scratched into your chest in the morning, I think you'll be fine.
