Looks like Sanctum is popping out a new free DLC map shortly. Impressed, figured once Sanctum 2 was announced they'd move right on.

Right, because I am stuck at work filing bug reports, rather than buying and playing Grimrock, and because the rest of you are having fun instead of conference calls, I have decided to do a contest. To get my revenge. Or something.

I have here a copy of Dungeon Defenders. In order to acquire it, and defend some dungeons, which I am reliably informed is a lot of fun, you must send me the most elaborate, Rube-Goldberg-esque dungeon trap that you can think of. Points will be given for number of steps required to obliterate an unsuspecting monster (the more the better), inventiveness, style, and - probably - comedy value. Entries accepted in the form of images, text, or anything else, really.

Usual rules apply - active forumer, etc, etc. Contest will close..probably on Sunday or Monday, depending on when I am finally allowed out of the office. PM's only, as usual.

    Oh my, isn't this embarrassing.

I got a Revenge of the Titans key from the Puppygames thing while at work, and when I get home and enter it, I apparently already own it.

    Only one thing to do:

    signature.png

Note: I make no guarantee that I'm not a victim of the duplicate key bug. If that's the case, I will definitely try to get it corrected, but can't promise anything. It should be fine (hopefully).

I just finished The Darkness 2. took me around 6 hours to get through it and I skipped a few of the earlier cutscenes..... Really regretting that now since they're so good. Gonna watch them in the New Game+ mode though. Absolutely phenomenal game that totally blew my mind and expectations. Wasn't expecting to find something that would stand up to the first at all but I think it might have surpassed it. And the Ending was epic. I'm talking Darksiders style insanity that really makes me wish they're working on the third one right the fuck now.

You people need to stop making me regret skipping this on the Amazon sale!

That's what I get for failing to serve the Newell.

Incidentally, I never bought it. @handgimp, in his infinite wisdom and generosity (or drunkenness) gifted it to me. One of the most fun games I've played so I'll definitely be paying it forward next time its on sale.

Yeah, that makes sense. When people talk about getting a new game in this thread, I actually just assume it came from handgimp, rather than the person buying it themselves. I think it's more likely at this point.

My wallet has been relatively safe from steam lately, but not completely. Gog has been taking my money. I thought I was out of the clear and then theme hospital comes out. So I bought that too.

As my birthday was on Tuesday, I would not have minded this! I think getting Titan Attacks for free was a good enough present for me though. :) I don't actually need to buy any games at the moment.

This can't be overstated. Bastion is a real gem of a game. It's a perfect example of focusing on a simple idea and polishing it to a mirror shine.

If anyone else still hasn't played it, you should really do so soon.

So CKII is an absolutely amazing game, holy god. As the dynasty of the now-Kings of Ireland, I've already killed my kings' own mothers twice in order to inherit their holdings in France. The glorious Irish empire continues to spread!

If you're a fan of strategy games, or medieval history, or assassinating family members for fun and profit, you need to play this game. It's very accessible, too.

Also, there is a fantastic Game of Thrones mod in the works.

On the subject of paying people to take it, I (for some unknown reason) seem to have stuck in my head the notion that the gothic games are terrible. Can anyone tell me if I'm correct or if I'm just maligning some poor innocent games for no reason?

No, because you can't buy Gothic 1 separately. In fact, I'm not sure how he got 2 without 1 in the first place.

there was a sale a while ago for just 2 & 3, I think it was before 4 was out and I'm not sure if 1 was available on steam at the time, there's also now a pack for £4.49 with 1, 2 & 3 but it doesn't include the expansion for 3 (which I don't have) I may just pick this pack up as really I want to play 1 before 2 & 3
