this is like i wrote an article for the new york times, and was really proud of it, and then I came over to my friends house and saw it in the bottom of their birdcage
This is bad because I don't have time for another awesome fg.
The people were great. The venue was great. The tournament itself did not have the players for a major or the structure to support a small turnout.
ChrisG qualified form pools on all byes.
Being seeded second, I qualified on one win.
I played at 12:30 and not again until my first stream match at 10. I took two naps in between and they woke me up to say I had to go in to play early on stream.
Sucked down a redbull, won 4 straight, eliminated my buddy on stream, then lost to FrankieG.
I finished T13th with a 4-2 record. I finished T17th at Final Round at 8-2.
Played tons of Soul Calibur 5. Going in on that game now as well.
Can't wait for SB and UFGT.

Haha. Well PowerUp was different than Final Round... Final Round I was hungry. I feel the same way about UFGT and Summer Slam. I want to WIN those tournaments. I felt that way about PowerUp right until I figured out what kind of an event it was going to be. When I sat down with ThaVoice, we were joking and having fun and laughing and I was giving him a ton of tips. The tournament was just hardly a tournament at all. Everyone was having a lot of fun together, everyone was being buds, so it was hard to treat it as this big serious thing.
At UFGT and Summer Slam, they won't get nice-side Kinderparty! >(

haha. Given his position as anchor, the XF3 boost to the level 3 is so massive that I usually just take For the Princess XF3 into Goddess Bracelet for a kill or j.mp double jump j.mp j.mp j.hp lance for meterless.
I know For the Princess hits all around you, but how is it at actually holding multiple opponents?
say, if someone was trying to cross you up with Drones and dashing to your other side or Berserker Slashing or something similar, could For the Princess continuously hit both of them or would it end up dropping on of your opponent's characters?
You better believe I've won a lot of tournament matches on happy birthdays. Someone calls drones, or akuma or magneto EMD and tries to cross me up and I get both characters in one XF3 level 3. It'll kill the assist and I'll be able to finish the point with a goddess bracelet addition. You NEVER want to call assists against a loaded Arthur because you WILL lose both characters.

No chance. Going to Colorado to visit friends and then driving down to Vegas for EVO. That + running a local tourney is eating up the dollaz.
Btw, I did go to Next Level Friday night. Obviously some locals weren't there due to Power Up / just cuz, but the "normals" that were there..ugh. I went 78 and 4 in Marvel. Zero bitching was at an all-time high although they did respect my Nova.
Fuckers need to realize if they call an assist when Zero can unleash a level 3 buster in the air it's THEIR fault.
Coolest part was Henry Cen recognizing me when I came in and saying "No Bison players allowed!" with a big grin on hi face. Zero idea how he knew who I was.

I need to start playing VF5 again. Bunch of VF heads got together and two of the machines were being used for it at Next Level. I could barely remember how to set my buttons.
