HBO Go sounds like something I would gladly pay for. Let's see...

Google for "hbo go", the title of the first hit is "HBO GO. It's HBO. Anywhere."

Sounds good. Let's have a look...

"To access HBO GO℠, you must reside within the fifty states of the United States of America. If you reside in this area and are still experiencing difficulties, please contact your television provider."

So "anywhere" now means "only in the USA". :(

    US-centrism go!
Actually on a more local scale we have same problem here in Sweden. For example when they present the weather they might say "Today Sweden has experienced sunny weather, with not a cloud in the sky" even if the only dry spot in the entire nation was Stockholm with surrounding suburbs.

Also if I'm not wrong this episode had the first instance of Hodor saying Hodor, which is something that I'd been missing so far. I kinda wish he'd said Hodor to more people on the way to Bran's room.

I remember in season 1 when he bursts into Bran's room with the saddle all smiles and he doesn't say anything.

There had to be like 50 takes where he said Hodor but they went with the one where he doesn't for some reason.

No, he definitely said Hodor in season 1 -- they didn't make a big thing out of it, but he definitely hodor'd his hodor a couple of hodors.

Haha, yeah. Very different character so far though, seems almost decent but everyone in this show has something wrong with them so i'm sure i'll get schooled on that soon enough.

Thing about The Wire is that nobody's good and nobody's bad. Everyone is just human.

Kinda like Game of Thrones actually, except GoT has some actual evil characters.

Well yeah, i kind of figured that. Daniels is an okay guy who actually tries to do some cases right, but he still beat up a guy during interigation, and Mcnulty is a hell of an asshole for all that he tries to be an actually good cop. I guess i should qualify "decent" as "guy who might in someway care that people are fucking dying for whatever reason".

  • SimBenSimBen Registered User regular
It even has a sort of GoT-like cynicism to it where the people who are willing to compromise, bend the rules and cheat are far more successful at the game than the rigid team players who stick to the rules.

Gregor, Joffrey, Ramsay. Doing evil shit just for kicks even when it actively worsens their position in the game. The worst of The Wire (Marlo, the Greek) are simply amoral on par with Littlefinger. They still play well, they just don't let morality get in the way of winning.

Ah of course, evil is only evil when done for reasons that don't further your political or position of power.
