I think a 6-mana aura is going to have problems no matter what it tries to do

if you can get it to stick and last with a good board position, though, it could give you quite an advantage (but of course any removal, bounce, flicker, etc. can shut it down at a moment's notice)

There seem to be a hell of a lot of mythics in this set. I come from a pre-mythic era, how rare are they?

there's a 1 in 8 chance that the rare in your pack will be replaced by a mythic, and generally are 15 mythics per large set (first set in a block, and more recently the third as well in the case of Avacyn Restored and Rise of the Eldrazi) or 10 in a small set (second and third sets of a block, barring the aforementioned exceptions)

the top three cards are the remaining copies

but actually I half want to try doing something with that and Selective Memory to clear out all non-permanents

Wouldn't the angel be okay? After all they are copies, I thought copies of a card with legendary didn't break the rule, just additional cards.

So to clarify, the copy effect copies the entire card, including supertype.

copying takes on every characteristic of the card, I think, up to and including mana costs (for those few effects that care) and other copy effects (if you Clone a Clone that's already copying something, they both wind up copying the same thing)

creating a second copy of your opponent's legendary permanent just to destroy it isn't actually all that rare a tactic

I've passed RA and we need more level 1s in my area, so I'm going to step up to the plate sometime before October (so I don't have an entirely new mess of interactions to learn). So far I have managed to pass 1 of 4 practice tests.

The amount of hard control/good counters we have available is so damn low. I've been trying to get UB or Esper control off the ground for months, with very limited success. Aggro is just so fucking consistent in this format. A Karn/exile deck in Esper might be doable, but I still can't see Mana Leak carrying it to victory.

I'm not sure how to "randomly" choose things like that.

Except for maybe flipping all the cards, shuffling them up in a pile, and picking one. But that seems oh so time consuming.

alternatively if someone has a die with sides equal to (or close to) the number of permanents you could roll for it

or random number generator it since people always have phones and apps on hand, just make sure you agree on which permanent is which number
