Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Justification for this? Desperate times call for desperate measures. War is picking up in size and scope. Maybe the gift of Warcasting is evolving, and people are starting to manifest it in a minor form like this. Or something.

COME FORTH, AMATERASU!

Starting with old witch and hugging cover or hiding behind a row of shocktroopers.
Playing Vindictus (Menoth) vs Old Witch (Khador). A Vassal Mechanik makes his way over to a Repenter who is locked in combat with some IFP. Succeeds his Repair check and fixes some Cortex boxes. Vindictus Sacrifical Lamb's a Zealot to give jacks, including the now fixed Repenter, a focus each. A Vigilant moves up to one of the two IFP engaging the Repenter, picks him up and two-hand-throws him into the other IFP, killing both. The now free Repenter moves and flames a bunch of WGRC and Old Witch, who thought she was safe hiding in a forest. The initial hit and subsequent fire hit take her down to 2 boxes.
Second awesome sequence of the day:
An Allegiant in Shifting Sands essentially circumnavigates the board, after making two Tough rolls to avoid getting killed by Kayazy (an oddity, Perfect Balance prevents CMAs and Backstrikes but does nothing against Gang). Along the way, he survives (and moves due to misses from) shots from WGRC, another Kayazy, Black Ivan, and some Battle Mechanics, as well as a swing from the Old Witch herself. He then kicks Old Witch in the face to end the game.
I freaking love Vindictus. True Path is so amazingly good for Menoth, it's amazing that people really overlooked him for so long.

That said, I'ma play the shit out of him for an upcoming local league. Cinerators, too. B|
Edit: Also them's some badass moments, tzeentch.
In SR2012, when you need your caster up the board to claim objectives, he is quite useful.

Which is ironic, because all of those but the regular Paladins are 3 points, and without Vilmon I'd certainly take Allegiants over Paladins. Allegiants are good with Vindi, because True Path makes them Move 9 while still stancing. That's faster than some infantry can run. Also I guess if you have nothing better you can put Defender's Ward on them for Def 19 fun.

If they don't, you can file a missing parts claim.

Well, I think my second faction (wanted it to be Hordes anyway for new mechanics) has been settled.
Good god.
Edit: oh, almost forgot. I've been listening to the Muse on Minis podcast while walking to class and whatnot. It's pretty good stuff! However, I'm noticing that they basically never, ever talk about Khador (outside of one episode where they did their newbie section for Khador and had to bring an outside guy in). While general stuff is cool, faction specific stuff is nice too, but it just seems like none of them play Khador. So, do you guys know of any podcast with the caveat that there be at least one Khador player on it?

Just for fun I'm going to post up the size comparison I saw on the PP forum.
These new super models are going to be pretty sweet to see on the table. If they're as carefully balanced as the battle engines were this will be fantastic for the game.
And stuff.
Sacrosanct is rough, not entirely sure how to deal with it. I just decided to try to shoot down as many Exemplar as I could and just eat the knockdowns, tough rolls with no knockdown are annoying though. I read through all of his unit cards but I knew I wasn't going to remember everything, I was only going to learn by things throwing wrenches in my plans, and oh hell did the Avatar's gaze throw a giant wrench in my plans. I maybe could have killed the avatar a bit early in the game but I forgot to pop my feat (herp derp). Still, it was a pretty fun back and forth game that ended with both of our casters in base to base (and then I had the fun of going... wait, your caster has armor piercing? and I'm a medium based caster? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF).
The mortar has been consistently underperforming in my game. Now, admittedly I've been having no luck on deviations (my results tend to be 5 or 6 inches deviating directly backwards, I think he's killed as many of my own models as enemy models at this point). I'm considering dropping him to bump the Kodiak into Beast 09. Speed 4 no reach (especially because butcher has no speed boosts) is painful. Though, at that point I think the only pathfinder in my army is the widowmakers.
I firmly believe that the meh reception a lot of battle engines got has to do with their newness. Nobody was quite sure that to do with them for a while. I suspect that the Siege Adamantarax is suffering from this issue more than most. It seems like a great vanguard piece that would deal damage on the way in, be resistant to tar-pitting, and still be able to damage heavies. It won't be the best at any of those things, but it'll allow your specialists to advance unmolested and force your enemy to deal with a stonking great dinosaur in their way.
