This may be blasphemy, but I'm going to say it. The original Diablo was the best.

    It's not blasphemy

    I wholeheartedly agree

Diablo had something that Diablo 2 lost in its geographical expansion. There is something more alluring and terrifying about Hell literally opening up at your feet than a vast, expansive journey aimed at finding Diablo.

Honestly, I liked Darkstone better than Diablo 2.

    Hahaha, awesome. :D

So I tried to install GK3 on my Vista box. It is giving me the hardest time yet.

I did end up installing Boot Camp, and a copy of Windows 7 x64, and it plays well enough. I have only crashed once, and it was during a movie clip (fucking Bink video).

It also helps that I dropped the 6 bucks to install it off of GOG as opposed to using my perfectly fine install discs for 3 sitting on the shelf. At least GOG goes through all the patching and testing to make sure the game will work with windows.

I am so sold on Diablo 3, Syndalis.

I will say this: The Demon Hunter is a billion times more fun than the Wizard. Did not like the Wizard. :P

    me too.

I wrote up a thing for Jacob about how GK3 installed fine on my Windows 7 x64 install, but probably only because I repurchased the game off of GOG. I doubt my discs will install smoothly nowadays, as they are 13-14 years old at this point.

@Sheep - so. What's the difference between the state extracting resources and dumping the profit in the general revenue fund and selling the right to extract resources and dumping the profit in the general revenue fund?

For starters, one is a one shot profit and the other is sustained profit. With the sustained profit and privatization of resources comes political power and a basis for expanding that political power outward.

My parents had this idea that they were going to raise me and my siblings as really hardcore catholics from a young age. I guess the point is that they never had "true faith" and they saw if as an embarrassing shortcoming. They figured if they pushed it really hard from when we were young, we could really accept jesus christ as our lord and savior and in the process, reestablish the family traditions of Catholicism.

It wasn't until the sex abuse cases started coming out that I finally got a reprieve from that bullshit.

    Multiplayer is fantastic.

    Single campaign is average.

information keeps coming in that brings the world to life without forcing you to stop playing.

So basically Blizzard figured out how to get story across without having to turn the game into a CGI movie.

    Good to hear.

Now I regret having too much of a life to play D3 this past weekend for free.

I found a list of superhero religious affiliations and found some d'oh headslappers (every Howard Chaykin character ever is Jewish. of course.) as well as some ones I didn't know of but that make sense (Sasquatch, Walter Langkowski, is one).

Right - but you also had copies of 80s movies edited with scissors and duct tape so you couldn't see boobs.

Honestly, I think the best way to describe D3 is that it's standard Dungeon Crawler gameplay with a very streamlined skill system which makes it impossible to make your character useless, but allows for a variety of gameplay styles with the standard Blizzard polish applied to a mirror shine.

I'd presume so. The sports bar my friend used to work at had "dubstep night" where they'd clear out a bunch of the tables and had a DJ, smoke machine, and some lights. He hated it.

It had a pretty short run as it was significantly less popular than dirty bingo.

So, the other month Bart Ehrman released a book called Did Jesus Exist wherein he takes Acharya S to task for claiming there is a bronze statue hidden in the Vatican entitled "The Savior of the World". The statue depicts a rooster, with a human penis for a head.

Everyone assumed Ehrman is right, but Acharya S keeps producing source after source discussing it. Looks like it really does exist.

    What a world.

The dubstep scene here is just for people who like eletronica and pills. There are a lot of different types of people who go to the clubs here, not just brodudes.
