Just do them on your own terms. You shouldn't do things for someone because you're afraid they'll get mad at you if you won't.
Naaah man, just handle it calmly. You don't have to stop doing things for them... just do them because you want to, not because you were told or because you want a reaction from them.
You don't do favors for people to get the validation of thanks, you do them because you want to be nice. If they don't appreciate it, that's on them. Just be relaxed about it and tell them to back off and be respectful. "There's no need to get overwrought about some DVDs OK? Relax, we'll find them. I'm eating right now, and if you want so help it's going to have to wait a bit."
Just be calm and remember that you aren't required to put up with nonsense, and also remember that you don't have to react strongly to close down the nonsense. Lastly, as I said, a favor isn't a favor if you need the thanks to make it feel good.
