Currently in the beta, the pets aren't mailed to you. In fact, they don't even show up in your alt's companion tab yet. However, they do show up in your alt's Pet Battle Journal automatically, and you can summon them from there. Also, Pandarens currently have access to both the Alliance and Horde versions of the Moonkin Hatchling even after they pick a side. However, the pets are only Server-Wide, not Account-Wide. It's obviously still a work in progress though (the Pet Battle Journal has no function beyond summoning at the moment, and it can only be opened by going into Key Binding and assigning a key to open it).

When did this happen? They were mailing the specific one after you picked a side previously. They must be moving shit around for account-wide pets or something. My guess is this won't stick (unless account-wide = horde pets on alliance and vice versa).

So happy, I finally finished my 2nd, and much better, transmog set. It is so hard to get an ICC25 group on a dead server...

On that note, do you guys have any idea how fucked up the pricing of items has become on RP servers because of transmog? Cindercloth recipes for tailoring are of extremely high value, let alone the vest / leggings when people put them up on the AH.

RP servers are where you make BANK

I had 500 gold on my tailor before level 20

On a different note, I haven't played since around Ruby Sanctum. Wiped my roster, rolled all new toons.

When you hit 80, should you try to roll into Hyjal with 20K HP or go do dungeons for gear?

Roll into Hyjal, the first few quests are a lot more forgiving compared to Vashjir.

This right here. Vashjir is a little brutal on fresh 80's. Unless you buy yourself ilevel 270+ gear on the AH, starting at level 77.

Which you might want to check on. On my last couple alts to 85 I was able to snag some cheap ~300 blues usable by lvl 80 for cheap that made leveling way easier and you make money back fast selling everything from quests.

Don't know, played the beta at a friend's house. I could create a panda and pull up the Pet Battle Journal (he mapped it to Alt+J) and summon whatever companions he had learned on that server, even though ordinarily you wouldn't be able to have a Companion in the starting area since there are no mailboxes here. This included both versions of the Moonkin pet. Then I could log on to his 85 premade Alliance Pandaren Monk and still use either Moonkin pet, but if I logged onto his 85 undead rogue he only had the horde moonkin pet available instead of both.

Edit: This is referring to the Pet Battle Journal and summoning the pets from there. Currently the Companion tab in your spellbook only shows the specific pets that you have learned on that character. So, for example, if you bought a cat in Elwynn Forest, the character that bought it can summon that cat from his spellbook, but everyone else could only summon it from the Battle Journal and wouldn't see it in their regular spellbook.

I'm assuming the Companion tab of the Spellbook will eventually be updated to have all the pets the Battle Journal has. They'll probably also fix Pandaren having access to both Moonkin pets, since that's probably not intended since other races can't access both.

My 6/8H DK looks like it won't have a raid for the rest of the expansion. A shame, but Dark Iron isn't really a super active server anymore.

At least I manage to get Heroic Ragnaros while it was still something of an accomplishment.

Hahahaha, this is going to get nerfed so hard.

You know that new rogue glyph that lets you assume the appearance of a humanoid when you pickpocket them?

Durn the Hungerer can be pickpocketed.

Ah, that may just flat out be broke. I know the Pet Journal shows a lot of pets that don't exist and/or are from the opposite faction. I just remember when I made a Panda it mailed me the faction-specific version of the Moonkin when I picked my faction. But it's totally possible the pet journal always let you summon both (because it's buggy/unfinished)

While eclipsed, your Sun/Moonfire is refreshed by Wrath/Starfire. Which means it'll last until the next eclipse and you don't have to waste time refreshing it.

There's also a skill that puts you into both eclipses for 15 seconds. Very nice as opposed to getting screwed on big burn phases because you just left an eclipse.

Plus plus plus, you can talent into Incarnation for another DPS Cooldown, +25% damage while in Eclipse. I wonder if Celestial Alignment and Incarnation can stack...

I'd test it, but Beta servers are down for maintenance.

    Hit eclipse and pop Incarnation.

Cast until you hit 0 energy.

    Pop Alignment

Done right, your Incarnation will last for the duration of Alignment.

EDIT: It's fully intended to work with Incarnation, because otherwise Incarnation would be largely wasted. They both even have the same cooldown. It's worth noting that Alignment does not grant you any extra DPS: you're just getting both eclipses simultaneously.

Does anyone know if I already ordered D3 through blizzard but want to do the annual pass how that will work? Does the 60 bucks for diablo apply to monthly subs or what? Or should I just contact support?

  • SightTDWSightTDW Registered User regular
I know that buying a D3 CE on top of the annual pass nets you a few more free months. I would hope you would get at least that, if not a refund.

Well, ran my first normal Dragon Soul 10 with my Hunter tonight. It was mostly a guild run of one of the good guilds on our server, we were just filling in a few people. We had two Vial of Shadows drop, I got the first one and a rogue got the second. Then the agility ring (without expertise) dropped from Hagara and I ended up getting that, though I didn't exactly win it. Lost out on two proper T13 tokens to the shaman in the group.

We one shot everything up until Madness, first attempt was pretty good but we didn't quite get it, we lost a healer and a tank on the last platform we did. Afterwards the rogue realized his poisons had worn off at some point.

Second attempt, the warrior tank charged or something while crossing islands and fell to his death fairly early on. After that, people had to go, most of them were east coast. I guess we're going to try to meet back up on Sunday to take out Deathwing... really hoping for Vishanka.

Felt pretty good overall, my 390 Hunter was only routinely getting beaten by the Fire Mage whom I'm pretty sure outgeared me. I think the rogue also could beat me on fights that weren't melee unfriendly. He was working on the legendary daggers, the essence collection part, so he had me outgeared on weapons too.

I've been looking at the MMO-Champ post on the new beta patch going up now and I'm seeing some good stuff. Looks like they reduced the mana cost on Mass Dispel drastically and gave it a 15 second cooldown, though it only dispels 1 beneficial effect on enemy targets now. I hope it prioritizes buffs that can't be normally dispelled at least... because trying to drop an iceblock or bubble and having it dispel a Brilliance or something instead would really suck.

They completely reverted the Survival Hunter changes and increased Explosive Shot's damage a bit. They switched around some stuff on Priests. Destro Warlocks are looking really interesting, may have to dust my 80 warlock off. Chaos Bolt just replaced Soul Fire completely for them, which is kind of weird and not exactly what Warlocks had in mind I'm guessing, but eh. I'll have to hop into beta probably tomorrow, haven't checked to see if the servers are even up right now.

But I still would like the ability to buy 5 character slots for an account for one server because I will probally bring my death knight over from a different server to windrunner for a lot of reasons and make a few more alts

Ah, I misunderstood the last line in your post.

I agree about the character slots. The fact that they went from "We're considering removing the server cap and letting you put all 50 characters on one server" to "You get one more slot and that's it" was probably the most disappointing news out of MoP for me. I filled all ten of my slots during tBC (had to delete bank alt to make DK for WotLK), and was looking forward to finally having some freedom with my alts. But now I can't and I'm stuck deciding between rolling a Pandaren Monk (like 90% of the playerbase) or rolling a different race as Monk and then paying to race change my shaman into a Pandaren.

I am making an undead monk and a pandaren rogue
The characters that i am thinking about making if I got more slots are an undead death knight and a troll warlock

As for the pets problem I think it's due to a memeory issue because I know there are people with over 150 pets out there and only 4 or 5 pages to the mail box so they might mass mail them to you
Currently I get if I start a new character on account A 19 pets get mailed to them

    PvE
Prime: Insect Swarm, Moonfire and either Wrath for pure single target or Starsurge
Major: Starfall and Focus are dps increases, Thorns is indirect dps and Solar Beam, Rebirth are nice utility.
Minor: decide if you want Typhoon or not, then whatever

Personally, for questing, LFD, LFR I'd go with Insect Swarm, Moonfire, Starsurge + Starfall, Focus, Thorns + Dash, Aquatic Form, Unburdened Rebirth

    PvP
Prime and Minor as above, for Major take Barkskin, Solar Beam and Monsoon.

I wonder if account-wide achievements will automatically grant their related rewards to your alts.

Mostly I'm wondering if all my alts are going to get free 310% flying from that Violet Proto-drake I got from What a Long Strange Trip a few years back.

Though I guess account-wide mounts would do the same thing, since isn't the Violet Proto-drake coded to grant 310% flying the first time you mount it now or something?

On a related note, I wonder if "the Insane" title will become even easier by having one character go Bloodsail and another go Steamwheedle.

Oh, or if those extra dailies at the Argent Tournament that require a reputation achievement will just be unlocked for all my alts from now on.
